For the main menu is it supposed to be like in a window mode? As in having the game in full screen but only the main menu in window size with the sides black

Well, the original screens for Oni were all in 640x480, so if you're playing in a higher resolution than that, they're not going to fit the screen.  But we did make an HD Screens package that gives you 1024x768 screens.  I think it's pretty nifty.

Hi there. Long time no post, I have been away since I had to move to take my exams for university. There's nothing better than having free time after a stressful learning time. So, how is it going, is our forum running O.k? big_smile

Well, this is hard to say. I really like the AE and after each release, I took quite a lot time to play it. The thing I like most in playing AE is its new combat system (and BrutalAI mod), which makes Oni become more challenging. But after playing a bit I felt like the combat system wasn't as neat as it used to be before, so I decided to take a look at the AndrashiTRAM package.

When I opened it, I found that there were 211 new animations in the package. I thought that was not an enough amount, so I went to the forum and searched for the old version of AndrashiTRAM mod. Counting all the files from those two archives, I found that the old version has 440 new animations (!), which is much more than the one we are using now (I think that is the reason why the present version isn't as neat as the old one)

After that, I tried copying all the files I found to the present "AndrashiTRAM" folder (include overwriting), and then I saw that there were 426 animations in the folder. If we subtract 440 by 426, that means there are 14 animations which are included in the present version but not in the old one (just to know that, this is not a serious problem). After doing all of those, I installed the package again and tried playing Oni. Wow, things are better now, the combat system is very challenging, AI now fights better. That's great! big_smile

I wonder what happened to the package. Does it lack of updated animations, or is it planned to be like that? Anyways I prefer the old version, it makes AE really different and newer than the vanilla Oni.

Here you can try the combined version of AndrashiTRAM I am using. Does it make any difference and make sense for you?

And as I mentioned before, this is my package that fixes glitches in some animations. You'll hardly notice these, but anyways, it's better than nothing.  smile

Yes, Winrar should be fine. (After install you might try right-click the file and search for the extract option. If it is not there, simply open the file so you get into winrar...)

Please read on the AE readme. It should give you all needed information. If you get stuck nonetheless, we will be still here.

hey, does this mod includes all those new characters that samer and some other modders created ? Eg: Jubei, Akane, James and Jamie hasegawa ? Coz I've not downlaoded this new AE version YET

@Onirulez the best (in my opinion) modeling program out there is zbrush, use maya(advanced) or poser(not so advanced but easier) to animate


...edit: i fixed that problem but now when i play it there is no sound for anything and all the mods dont work.

I am having trouble with my installation of AE. I have the error some people report where when I click the .exe in the anniversary folder the screen blinks but the game does not start. The anniversary edition is in the oni folder like it should be, and I have installed a couple of mods and followed the instructions in the installation guide.

That's right, the game works perfectly, but edition does not run. My OS is windows 7 64 bit if that helps.

We don't have any major AE updates on the horizon because our attention is on multiplayer now, but I do hope to work with Gumby soon on a minor AE release that will fix some bugs.

Oh i was just remembering Ire the other day.
Also i noticed Gumby wrote AE doesn't have BSL support? You think somthing like that could be possible? As in have the BSLs inside the package that way we don't have to replace the BSL's everytime we install. Like Oni Zen Garden

yeah oxe it works u just have to remove the read only attribute from the folder. we discussed this on the thread i posted.
