A small tachikoma could work unless you wanted something similar looking to the sentry droid.
Is animating really needed? You could just say they're using their wheels!

That's not hard to do, you would need to make a custom set of TRSC, TRAS and related TRAM. That's how I got the Sentry to aim and shoot its weapon.

I haven't found a model I like, so this one is just a stand in. Also, I not sure what type of particles the guard dog should use.
Note the sound is not synced with the video, don't know what happened, the original was fine.

I installed a fresh English copy of Oni on my Vista Laptop, installed latest AE and only installed this mod. The droid's jet engine is emitting particles at the top then going to side.
Does someone has the same problem?

how come ur driod is brown? mine is red . And yes we all have the same problem. At least i do O_O. But i think its the typical barabus jetpack thingy. If you download the barabus jetpack package, you will notice the jet blowing thingy will go sideways then go straight. So i guess its a glitch which we try to close one eye cuz we know how much efort these people put in to create this driod

I requested also an older version to pacify my paranoia but the problem keeps the same. The particle movement is like this all the time for me.

paradox: That is really odd. The only issue I have is that sometimes the particles does not reach the ground but stays near the droid. Did you try the Barabas jetpack mod and see if it has the same issue?
I did not make any changes to the jetpack particles itself. Maybe you can try modifying the idle TRAMs and attach the particle to a different bone and see if it makes a difference.

I see the glitch Stevinlewis mentioned but the end direction there is correct. I try to get rid of the changing movement direction first before changing the bone. Could take a while...

Okay, I attached a pack (below the screenshot) with two fixes. "lite" is theoretical a fix for the "common" PC glitch (theoretical because I cound't test it on your computers), and "heavy" fixes of course my type of problem.
Edit: attachment includes only the working version now.

Paradox ur PC "lite" fix made the jet engine appear on top :\ towards the sky
and the lasers now shoot to the side :S instead of in front it's really hard to take a screenshot while shooting so i couldn't but here's how the jet engine looks with ur fix

yes the heavy appears like EdT's but shooting the lasers as a playable character goes to the side :S it worked fine before, are u having this problem EdT with the shooting ?
and is it me or does the particle seem upside down even in the heavy fix ?
I mean the blue part of it the more circular, should be right under the sentry and the red tail should be touching the ground

The shooting particle shouldn't be affected at all (unless you encounter a cutscene bug like at level 4, Muro's second appearance). EdT, why was this again: cuz of forced holster?
I could shot normally but after that scene the particle goes to the left.
However, the "heavy" wasn't for your computer, Samoko, but I'm surprised that the "lite" failed because I don't remember changing the overall direction there. Maybe something changed during the reconverting process. I will do a binary comparison of the new and old (ONCC+BINA) files when I'm home.

In my version, Barabas' original particle starts being red and change to blue.

Edit: I'm trying to collect BINA files from other sources right now. Please be patient.
For the moment I can say that my doing didn't change the ONCC file at least. (In short, I wanted to exclude the possibility of an unknown flag...)
