Re: Flatline Alpha

It cycles through every character the host has. However, if you cycle to a character the host has but you don't, you either crash or have the wrong model, I don't recall which. smile

Re: Flatline Alpha

dang that means we should all have a basic roster of characters then

So for example start out by adding all the new chars in this AE, then eventually add a few more and have some sort of requirements list?
Like, "In order to work correctly with most users you need to have
1: Black Chief
2: Jubei and Akane
3: ShinBot"
and so on smile

Well not these chars, but the ones most users have
like Casey

Re: Flatline Alpha

Basic roster is all of the characters in normal Oni. At some point once I've got the spawn system completely worked out, I'm going to rebalance all of Oni's characters for a multiplayer character pack.

Re: Flatline Alpha

There aren't going to be Tiers (other than Civilian and nonCivilian). At least not intentionally. Each class will be balanced equally, each favoring to a different playstyle. I should probably make a thread on it.

Re: Flatline Alpha

Don't expect any new updates for at least a week. I'm currently trying to see if I can get connected with a master server.

Something to do with Marathon, I believe. Looks like Gumby is borrowing its chat code.

Re: Flatline Alpha

No shit, you coded all this in C#? yikes That's amazing man. I would've thought a more advanced language would be needed, like C++. Great job!

hm where do you see c# files? I only see some headers, c and c++ source files (cpp).

Also C# can't do much with mem manipulation I believe.

Nice work gumby. smile You will use marathon master server to upload the dedicated oni servers? Or I'm getting it wrong?

edit\

I'm currently trying to see if I can get connected with a master server.

Ha ok so it's only a test.

Stop asking about dedicated servers. : / I need to find a way to pipe ssh input or something to Oni first. And change a whole crapload of other stuff. It's currently very low on my priority list.

Good news everyone! I should have working uPnP! I just can't test it at the moment as my router is being funny. sad

Edit: Success! I figured out how to see all my forwarded ports properly.

This is what happens when my router goes for a few weeks without being restarted. tongue

LAN games already worked just fine. Though no automatic discovery...yet. This is for Internet games. It means that you don't have to screw around with your router to forward ports.

Re: Flatline Alpha

I just got to play with a mate today. I can't get it working, it's just giving me an error about the IP string. It doesn't matter what I enter in the console, it gives me an error (client) no matter what.

Re: Flatline Alpha

You have to put the ip in quotes. No matter though, I'm releasing a new version in just a few minutes which doesn't require an ip string.
