Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

You extracted it wrong. You should have Oni\Edition\install\AEInstaller.exe smile

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Shiit I did the opposite thing of last time, I thought about moving everything from the Edition folder in the zip into the existing edition folder, but I was all "uh oh I'm trying to take intuitive steps that effed things up last time" so I just moved to new Edition folder into the old one.

...But it still doesn't work.  sad

I noticed the new GameDataFolder is quite different, only having the level0 stuff and none of the other numbers.  Should I still replace my old GameDataFolder with the new one?  That's what I did, but I have the old one backed up.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Ok, nevermind, I think I'm doing it right now.  I think I was losing track of what was going on and there was just too much junk in my edition folder so I moved it all to a backup folder, deleted it, re-downloaded the AE, extracted it and moved the new Edition folder to my Oni folder.  Now I'm running the installer and it's globalizing and taking much longer than it did at first, so I think that's a good sign.

By deleted it I meant deleted my old empty edition folder...  Lol.  I'm not THAT dumb, I just sound it.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Sorry about posting so much, but anyway, all problems and concerns are gone.  My GameDataFolder is now full and Oni is now running.  Thanks for the advice.  smile

Leus, glad you got it working.  Now did you install all the mods?  You should be able to see improvements in the game play.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Dude, I played save point 3 in TCTF randomly and got in a fight with like 8 people and I felt like I was being way more badass than usual, is that because of the edition or was I just getting lucky?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

I noticed that the "naptime" was back to being higher, but maybe that's just because I didn't have the mods on that make the enemies more badass, or because I was playing AAO in the Hexagon level.

Probably -- if you turn on Upgraded ONCCs, I think, naptimes are almost zero.  Practically impossible to land a ground attack on a fallen enemy, but it feels more realistic.  At some point I am going to have to play through Hard-difficulty Oni with it turned on (and the Andrashi system) to see how hardcore I can be. (Probably not very.)

What exactly does the Andrashi system do?  I have it enabled and I feel like I'm fighting better.

It makes the melee system more intuititive, or something. big_smile Ask Loser.

Did I do something wrong? I tried to reinstall AE for times but after it finished I still got "Blam, Oni crash".

I don't understand what is wrong.

What language are you playing Oni in?  And can you post the contents of Edition/install/Globalize.log and /Install.log?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Was the AE installed into a fresh copy of Oni, or one that had been modded in some way?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

love_Oni, where is it crashing? On startup? Or on loading a level? Try going into advanced options and selecting "complete" when installing.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

I did what you've said and I don't know why but it doesn't report "crashed" anymore. I'm going to play it now, thank you!!! big_smile (so excited)

P.S: I like the new combat system, especially the knockdown revamp big_smile. The new guns too.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Have you noticed that the game crashes in the beginning of the cutscene before SP3 of level 3?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Having the same problem, although I'm positive that I did download the updated version. I even recall  seeing the warning D=

EDIT: Yea, I followed the steps again, and the same thing happens: A crash during the cutscene leading into SP3. I see a wonderful shot of the windows right above the TCTF troopers when it happens.

Did you install the patch, Mengjun? Make sure you deleted the old packages folder and you reglobalized.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Yep, did all that, but do note I can't find the Edition/IGMD/global folder.

Also, i'm running 32-bit Vista home on my laptop, and 64-bit Vista on my recording computer.

EDIT: Maybe I got it, hang on.

How about edition\GameDataFolder\IGMD\global?
