Sorry not to say anything for ages and to come back with nothing new just to ask a questions but, any update on transparency maps?
my class has finished it's group project and we've moved onto the next one already. I'm also doing the Gnomon Master Class so will still be quite busy but hopefully when I finish the quality of my work will be at least x2 better.

Lapis: So far, there has not been any work around for issue of transparency in a character's texture, sorry.
One of your earlier posts mentioned that you could not see your model in the game, so if you upload your files, we can see what's wrong.

here are the files I was working with. I think in game she showed up but all the positioning of limbs and what not was in the wrong place.
I plan to start her over from scratch since I reckon I can do much better now. Well when i have free time to work on her amongst the other things

I placed her head on the female cop's body and got this:
The head size is slightly off, I guess I didn't scale it correctly.
If you want I can email my files for this character. I forgot, did you install Anniversary Edition? If so, I can make it a package.

EDT: oh no it's alright I'm just wondering if someone could manage to get the transparency map to work, since those white bits should be transparent. There is a alpha layer on the .tga file that should have those bits transparent.

Lapis: I'm sorry, it seems that we cannot get transparency to work on characters, it has to do with the Oni engine. You'll have to design your character with that in mind.

mm ok i know this topic is like 2 years old .. but ... has Lapis continued his work ?
i like the head mesh and the texture ... i can definitely do something good with them, if Lapis doesn't plan to use them anymore.
the attachment links are dead though. there have been 2 downlands .. does anyone still have these files ?

Hello again, Been 3 years since I've last been here. Glad to see my old model still being used just wanted to post something, kind of bugged me seeing her square hair so I took the old model and delete some triangles to give a bit of the spikey look, also got rid of the Com just in case some people don't want it.
