Casey Version 2 Update !

Change Log :

*Added an extra new outfit

*Added Running forward Kick Throw, and static forward kick throw

*Improved his dodging and escape moves (made them semi vulnerable like Konoko's instead of fully vulnerable)

*Gave him a new modified low kick ( dynamic crouch kick C+K) which has a staggering effect similar to that of the fury's

*Changed the running kick

*improved the 4 punches speed and reach

*other improvements to the combos

P.S for EdT I couldn't give him the comguy idle pose :$ the shoulders looked weird when i did .. I really hope u like the changes smile

lol:  I was about to mention about the idle pose, until I saw your P.S.

I like the 2nd outfit and the modified moves.  I think that if you can add the back, left and right running jump flips, that would complete his moves.

yeah the neck head and shoulders didn't look so good with that idle pose tongue i didn't want to modify the TRBS again sad

the jump flips I forgot them :S I planned to give him jump flips X$
the only ones available are ninja's and konoko's ... ninja's don't look good on him ... I'll have to adjust the konoko jump flips' TRAM heights so he doesn't sink when he lands

maybe in version 3 tongue

of course it is .. when u install casey or motoko u don't replace anything except the files in the globalization folder .
and both Motoko package and casey and even kojiro and shini-bot have the same files in the character variant  (so if u install the character variant form one of them u don't have to install it again . it doesn't hurt though)

let's do it step by step smile

1- Make sure u have the latest version of Casey and the latest version of Motoko (preferribly the version of motoko with the character variant fix )

here they both are

2- once u download them open either of the zips it doesn't matter which both are the same) there is a folder called "character variant" right ?
open this folder there are 11 files in there ONCVmotko ONCVcasey ONCkojiro ONCVwhitechief ONVLlist etc .... extract ALL these 11 files to this folder
Edition\install\packages\Globalize\oni\level0_Final\level0_Characters\Globalization
it should ask u there are already files with same filename overwrite ? u should select yes for all.

3- Open the zip of casey move the folder called  23500Casey to the install\packages folder
Open the zip of motoko move the folder called 21010Motoko to the install\packages folder too.

4-Open the AE installer check casey package and check motko package and hit install

that's it !

If u want to install other characters (Shinatamabot, the chiefs, Kojiro) after this u don't have to repeat step 2.

if this for some reason doesn't work, and there is no reason why it shouldn't,  be more precise in describing exactly the steps u followed so i can see what went wrong.

Not really. But since I'm here... why do you had to make ONCV fixes again? Wouldn't ONCVany had been enough for the new characters?

1- bec of the spawning issue ... a fury spawning instead of motoko
for example grey fury which i think u worked on is spawning randomly instead of the red ones ...

2- bec I plan to do various characters (outfits) from the same one  as u can see casey has 2 outfits .. and I wanted him to spwan with either of these randomly ... in the future i might do more

there is a new Shini_bot outfit on the way ... and Motoko

and I think they deserve a separate character variant ^_^

1- well, grey fury had ONCVred because I wasn't aware of the random costume problem. It was okay as long as you played this or that script for her. And when you wanted her not interfering the original game, it was enough to disable the plugin.

2- I still have the feeling that ONCVany isn't used because all original chars have their own pools. Well, never tested that out.
But it make surly sense for your casey variants and as a future investment.

paradox smile yeah i plan ahead tongue
since u're here would u mind if i tweaked the Grey Fury a bit ?
gave her the new severed textures for a face
gave her a bit more unique hair color
change the hit impacts - flash
and give her another character variant tongue ?

of course if u don't like it i won't publish it

mmm I always imagined that character as motoko tongue

but why not big_smile I won't call her Samoko though that's where i draw the line tongue !

I will still keep the fury moves and aspect of her though, just make her more unique smile

I will probably release a package with many new characters at once the bgi excutives , the reg fury , a special mad bomber, a mutated -normal muro- and the hydra tongue i have some ideas about her that i will discuss on ur BGi thread.

can someone help me please sad ??

after seeing the new HD konoko i wanted to improve the casey model a bit ...

so I have been trying for 4 hours to improve the face ... made the nose and chin less pointy ... i worked on softimage ... after i was done and exported to dae ... onisplit (by demos) won't convert it back to trbs ... it's giving me an error saying : Index was outside the bounds of the array and a bunch of other stuff...

does anyone knows what that means ?

i didn't do any huge changes from my original model ... for those with experience on softimage I just added some vertexes and edges at some places and removed them at others ... and I I want to make sure that it would be converted back to TRBS before i put any further effort into it.

can someone take a look at the dae and tell me why it isn't converting back to TRBS ?

I uploaded them : casey22.dae which is not converting and the original trbscasey.dae which was converting fine

Samer: That message usually means something is wrong with the polygons.  Did you remember to triangulate them?

ouh they should be triangles :S I forgot about that. i just added edges and stuff to make it a bit softer .. some polygons i guess were rectangles and other shapes ..so it only works with triangles ... that sure makes it harder :\

You can modify using polygons, just when you are done, be sure to select the head (or any other modified part) then triangulate it.  I think the command is in the Modify polymesh or surface mesh section.
