Re: 3ds max -> OniSplit

Well, I think the model EdT linked to is the one to use.

@EdT: I was thinking that it ought to be possible to give the ID "one" gun which fires from two locations, but I don't have the firsthand knowledge to really say for sure.  As far as the overall behavior of the mech, I do think that with the appropriate ONCC settings and scripting we could pull it off.

no not for the game. 3D modeling in general like making your own 3D models and stuff.

Cool. I'll have ro buy a copy of 3Ds when I ever get the chance. Blender 3D is hard to learn.

Re: 3ds max -> OniSplit

I sound like a broken record when I say this, but Blender 2.5 is supposed to improve the interface and make it more standardized.  I have an alpha build but haven't had time to test it yet.

You'll want this version: iron_demon_oni.zip
Its already set up to be imported into Oni. ... To all: How's this for a concept, create a ONWC gun for the Iron Demon so it can fire its weapons? Possible?

I see it's not a package, so I'm guessing it's not 'instanced' into an encounter in a level. If so, how about that too, so I can test it's animations, please/thanks?

EdT wrote:

bobbysoon, do you think you can make a walking animation for it?

yup, can do, soon as I get the utilities in order anyway

I've tried learning Blender before and it was some what hard. I still haven't gotten a chance to learn how to model or make landscapes in it.

Re: 3ds max -> OniSplit

Interesting, if that was 17secs', then I guess he went overboard with polys :-\

But I see the one in the .zip there is just right.

I wrote a tutorial that was nice and simple, aimed at teaching modders the basics of model editing, but it will need to be reviewed now that 2.5 is almost out.  I'll be testing the early build any time now....

Oops, I err'd - that pic was Ashley Davison's Iron Demon, not 17's

I registered with the wiki, and moved this mostly off-topic spamfest of iron demon related questions to my new talk page
