weapon idea \ question

ok I'm not going to make a weapon anytime soon ... I'm not that into it I prefer melee combat ... but i was wondering ... i was playing as Barabas with the jet pack mod on and noticed that the ray\flame emitting from his jetpack hurts enemies ...

so is it possible to turn that to a weapon projectile ? and make it shoot continuously like the phase streamer hence we get a flame thrower

I have a weapon question--not to overshadow yours Samoko, just thought I'd consolidate the questions.

I agree with you that I'm not too into guns and much prefer melee combat, and therefore, would there be any way to create melee weapons?  Swords, or maybe something futuristic like...  Something that creates a shockwave on contact and sends the enemy flying super far?  Lol.
