Please don't bother replying if you're playing in English ![]()
Just thought I'd ask, since we've never had a very clear idea of which languages Oni was translated into from English. Please note whether the dialogue in the game is in a different language, or just the subtitles.
byproducts are fine, but where's the beef?

(All Windows of course, don't know if they were all done for Mac OS too)
All with localized voice and subs if not stated otherwise.
Copy 1: English
Copy 2: English, German, French
Copy 3: English, Italian, Spanish
Copy 4: Russian
Copy 5: Chinese (localized subs/menus only)
And we definitely know there's an Japanese version, though it seems you can't buy it if you're not in Japan. Even Amazon doesn't ship it outside Japan ![]()

Isn't the Chinese one just subtitled in Chinese?

Of course it still counts as a localization, I just wanted to be sure about the details. Although knowing the reputation of the Chinese market, I wonder if that's an official localization ![]()

In China you can already play Diablo 5.

I've looked at the Chinese EXE...it does something akin to the daodan to get the font files ingame. I'm not sure whether to call whoever programmed it insane or genius.

Wasn't Tarik hellbent on getting the Japanese version or something?

Why would he want the Japanese version? Did he even speak Japanese?

Who? I've never heard of this Tarik. What's all this talk about a non-existant person? :C

We've gone completely off-topic here, but Tarik was banned for being an ass.
On the subject of why anyone would want the Japanese version, it seems kind of fitting for the characters in an anime-inspired game to be speaking in Japanese with subtitles, doesn't it? ![]()
But please, try to keep your posts to informing us if you're playing Oni in a language other than English.

I still have a Chinese version, but I haven't played it for a long time as it doesn't compatible with AE.
As I can recall, subtitles, console messages, diaries have been translated into Chinese completely, but the voices hadn't.
In China you can already play Diablo 5.
Yes,Wizardry XII is available now and ISHAR 6 will be released tomorrow.lol

In what terms is it incompatible with AE? As the engine is the english one and it only loads the chinese font dll it shouldn't work without problems.

I do seem to recall that the Daodan DLL had trouble with foreign characters, but maybe I'm wrong.
