Things that goes Boom!

I think this should be its own thread.

Get Loser's files for the exploding barrel http://loser.oni2.net/Junkyard/env_barrel_tech_demo.rar
Put the files BINAEINOimpact_effects.oni and MtrlExplosive.oni into the level0_Final folder.

Next export the file BINADBMTTextureMaterials from level0_Final folder as .xml

Add the following to the file:

<Material Name="Explosive">
            <Texture>LUGGAGE</Texture>
            <Texture>GARBAGECAN</Texture>
            <Texture>DRUM_BLK_01</Texture>
            <Texture>DRUM_BLK_WHT01</Texture>
            <Texture>DRUM_BLUE01</Texture>
            <Texture>DRUM_FIBER01</Texture>
            <Texture>DRUM_YLW_RED_01</Texture>
</Material>

Import back to level0_Final and rebuild.

Now shoot a barrel, garbage can or luggage with the w1_tap and it will explode. 

Its your turn to modify other things to go boom. Please post the name of the texture that you used.

Note: I don't know why Loser's barrel did not disapper..

That's really cool.  Of course I can't help but ask some questions about improving it even though it's already awesome: can we attach different particles to it other than glass shards? can we attach different sounds to the particles falling other than glass tinkling? and do we still intend to find a way to make these objects moveable?  I know Loser documented several reasons why his hack would not allow properly moveable objects because of buggy collision... but can we try it anyway?  I'd like to know what I have to do to make a moveable barrel so I can see how bad this collision is for myself.

You can't move the objects, probably never will. This week I will release my CHAR powered barrel (I promise!), which is moveable, mostly. It will be like the buggy OBAN, but less...buggy.

I thought there was the possibility of making his solution apply to OBOAs, that was the buggy collision I was referring to (that I still wanted to try).  But nevermind, I will wait to see how the CHAR barrel turns out.
