Ok, it says you implemented version numbers and such, but where are they?

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

The Mod Depot was down earlier today because I was doin' some t'ings: added Creator and Version fields (I made a permissions error, Gumby, check the upload form again now) and added a checkbox for mods that require the Edition's globalization, and added the mod's name to the filter result table.  So the site's now at about 90% of where I wanted it to be, after less than a week's work.

The only thing that could make me happier now is seeing more mods gets uploaded. (hint, hint)  Actually, I think the problem is that we ourselves have done only a fraction of the actual modding and I asked that no one upload mods that weren't their own.  The boards seem especially slow recently, with only a handful of us posting at the moment, so here's what I'm-a gonna do: give all registered users the ability the delete any file content.  Previously the permission setting was "delete own file content", now it's any file content.  Maybe I should have done it that way from the beginning.  Now it doesn't matter which user uploaded the file, because if a modder wants to take down an old version they can still do it even if they didn't upload it.

So, if anyone has some free time, they can populate the Depot with any mods they feel like, as long as they're sure they have the original mod as released by the creator.  I personally have no more blocks of time to spend on the site at the moment (back to the trailer), so I'm afraid I can't do any of the uploading myself, so no pressure on anyone else to shoulder the burden.  But at least now things can move faster than the way I had it set up before.

Ok, now you can stop shooting me, I posted to the mods site ArenaMac which will create the new level by script, in the same way as Gumby's.

Works great!

I did approve you, but I see you've had log-in trouble, love_Oni.  Check your PMs, I've sent you a new password that I set for you.  I don't know what your old one was or what trouble you had, but see if that password works for you.

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

Good idea, ONIrules, I have added the category "Weapon" and moved your weapons over to it.

I did notice that you added two versions of your plasma rifle.  Does the first version do anything that the second one cannot?  Otherwise, I'd recommend just leaving the newer upload and deleting the "1.0" one.

It's the same accept the textures are different. I kinda like the first version, so maybe I will keep it there. smile

Okay, no problem; they're small files.

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

Might as well bump this.  Some of you visiting the Depot at the moment might be alarmed at the changes, as I have just performed a major update to the site software.  All the important stuff is intact, but a couple things I know are broken:
1. The old visual theme is currently unavailable.
2. The filtered mod views (that you get when clicking on the sidebar) are missing their category and download link columns.  You can still click on each mod to view its page and get the download link that way.

I will be working to fix this stuff, but just not tonight, so I wanted to leave a note here that, yes, things are different, and don't panic.  If you notice anything besides those two issues I mentioned, let me know here.

Well, I don't know, I'm kind of torn myself.  Does anyone else want to chime in on what look they prefer for the Depot, the old dark one (Twilight) or the current light one (Garland)?

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

It looks very clear now. I like it and I vote for leaving it smile. What I would change is to increase number of mods showed per page. To maximum, ideally wink

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

Well, I, for one, prefer the old look. Everything in the Internet is white nowadays, I hate that.

As a second note, I will upload my OniUnlock to the Depot as soon as I can build an updated version, as the new AE will check for new releases directly from the Depot.

Okay, so far it's two for the old look (Alloc also prefers it), and two for the new look.

Someone reported this on the facebook group :

Please help!!! I cannot download mod from mods.oni2.net

312641_242765035853993_175049132_n.jpg

so I tried downloading one of my packs and got this error :
SNAG-0014.jpg

I don't know if this is something temporary and expected or not.

.. as for the look of the depot I don't suppose it can be user optional like the forum, each user can select the theme tongue ? either way it's no big deal whatever Iritscen decides is fine by me, but the white one is easier for me to read on my mobile browser and fits the new look of the forum.

Hmm, what were you trying to download?  I've tried some files and they worked for me.  The error itself is something I'm working on, but it shouldn't prevent a download from happening.

Shhht ... Disabled download count for now as it works without it wink
Thought I'd let noone know as it is only temporary.

Re: The Mod Depot is open for business

I tried to download one of my packs : ''casual tankers'' .. The other user from fb was downloading ''junkyard''.
Anyway getting the download counter back will be great .. So take your time there are no urgent downloads.
