Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

Gumby, ONIrules:

When you have some time, can you post a tutorial on how you're able to modify the particles and enhance the TRAMs?

Also, do either one of you want to figure out how to we can use Barabus' rocket particles.

For the AE Trailer there is this request:
jetpacking as Barabas (don't forget to add the particle to the TRAM)

How can we add the particle to the TRAM?

Here's the info on jetpacking: http://wiki.oni2.net/AE:Barabas#Jetpack

Note to ONIrules: Just in case you missed it, look at this page: http://wiki.oni2.net/User_talk:ONIrules

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

EdT: Tell you the truth. I actually used ONIUNPACKER to edit the TRAMS and then export the files with OniSplit. Now I still use ONIUNPACKER (very useful for me a lot). Someday I will experiment on how to edit the TRAM using a hex editor or in XML file and write a tutorial, so modders don't have to use ONIUNPACKER

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

Writing a tutorial modifying TRAMs with ONIUNPACKER will be great.  This will help othere (including me) understand the process.  Besides we can't edit TRAMs in .xml.

For example, write how you were able to add the motion trails to the TRAMs.  Maybe that will help me figure out how to add Barabas rocket particles to a TRAM or beter yet, you can do that smile

Yes, it is a TRAM request, so leave it on ONIrules and me ^_^. HERE you can see video of jetpacking Barabus. He uses his own BARAB/BARCOM/BARPIS/BARRIF jump animations, based on STRiker's, so no jetpacking strikers smile. This feature is still in alpha stage as I have to modify bone tracks in order to make jump animations loop and that is very time consuming. Also sound needs to be fixed and (that is Neo's work) we need to get rid of 300 air units instant death. Will be done later.

EDIT: link added, I have to be careful because my PC does funny things lately (crashes), so I save my posts while writing them. This whole article was meant to be posted yesterday in the late evening, but PC decided that it is time to go sleep.

Loser: Very cool video.  Did you see Neo's fix for the flailing timer?

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

Sure, I can help with such a tutorial. I'm mostly a weapon particle editor ATM however. I know nothing about TRAMs. One thing at a time smile

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

I know about it but it is not needed, I worked around it ^_^. I need to get rid not of the flail (I don't care about flail), but of that annoying 300 air units instant death. That is what makes Barabus die pretty fast in the air.

I would like to modify TRAMs, too.

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

love_Oni,
nice to see your effort. What do you want me to tell you?

Another way: since ONIrules is temporarily out, would you like to work with me on edition TRAM modding ?

If yes, then write + any comments if you have any.

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

I want to modify animation's performing velocity (to make it looks suitable for some characters), modify animation's performing height (so that won't look odd when I make a tall character such as Elite play a short character's animation, such as Konoko's moves), correct some animations' "start-to-cause-damage" times (ex: Ninja's Lightning Stomp, Tanker's Elbow Drop, Elite's back pistol-disarm...), fix some bugs that I have mentioned in other topic, add block-stunned or block-stagger to some heavy moves, make a link from this animation to other animations so male characters can perform the twister kicks, not only female characters can do that...

Though I have said too much, if you have times I'll explain it more.

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

Aren't the bugs fixed (the most blatent ones, anyways) if you use TRAM version 1.02?

Re: Particles/TRAM modifying tutorial?

Where is it?

(you mean the bugs caused when the "Comguy's front throw" move was performed and when Muro tried to perform leg-breaking?)

http://loser.oni2.net/Anniversary/LoserTRAM_V1.02.rar

I think that fixes everything smile We have to see what Loser says, though. (If not, the fix is super easy, I did it myself to avoid repacking my level0)
