Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Guys, you need to stop referring to "old" this and "new" that.  Please say what node you're getting the Daodan (note that spelling, please, Samer :) DLL from, or it's no use to discuss the problems you're having.

The DLL on node 233 (package #20) that we are currently planning on shipping with the next AE is the same DLL that shipped with the 2010 is the latest 3.0 beta build. so I guess that's the one Samer is having gamma troubles with.  (Did you see Alloc's note about gamma only working in fullscreen mode, Samer?)  Node 243 has two versions of the DLL -- the main .zip is the latest 3.0 beta and the "_old" ZIP is the 2010 DLL.

Just a general tip, if you are ever unsure what version DLL you're talking about, don't just compare the file size of the DLL and don't rely on the self-reported version that you get with "tellmetheversion" -- get the checksums of the two DLLs to see if they're identical.

No Iritscen it's not ... recheck it, this one on node 233 has a daodan.ini with it .. the one with the 2010AE doesn't, (you guys said it yourself the one in AE2010 didn't need the ini) also this one on node 233 leads to the quick weapons disappearing issue that script mentioned while the one that came with AE2010 doesn't . the bink32.dll in it is 367 kb the one that came with 2010AE is 52 KB .. they are not the same.
also your last revision on the depot says : Changed daodan.ini to not use WindowHack either, as this seems to be the safest setting for all systems.

it doesn't say that you went back and replaced it with the 2010AE daodan and again the 2010daodan didn't have an ini file so you shouldn't be able to change the windowhack or not.

I took the bink32 directly from the 2010AE zip this is the 2010daodan : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22609960/binkw32.dll not the one in the 233 nod, and this is the one you intended to go back and use after the newer daodan gave us issues, and this the one that I'm having gamma issues with.

the one on nod 243 labeled oni+daodan_old is the 2010daodan same one i linked form my drop box, but it's not the same one on 233,
the one on 233 (pack 020) and the one that is currently being downloaded by AEI2 is the 3.0 beta (no gamma issues but weapon disappearing and other issues) that you meant to change back to the "older one" i.e the 2010one (gamma issues but no other issues) the2010AEdaodan is not being downlaoded by the AEI2 currently (but it was meant to), I'm testing it manually by getting it from the 2010AEzip or form the oni+daodan_old form 243 ... and yes all in fullscreen.

Ok, Daodan_old from 243 doesn't have working Gamma here either.

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Sigh. That's not the newest version. Please hold.

Edit:
Jan 11, 2011:
http://gumby.oni2.net/Flatline/binkw32.dll

Edit2:
In theory, I can push out Daodan updates using the autoupdate included within Daodan. I can try when I get home if you like. Or alloc can modify:

http://svn.oni2.net/Daodan/MSVC/Daodan_Update.c:

#define DAODAN_BUILD 3
to
#define DAODAN_BUILD 4

and then update http://gumby.oni2.net/daodan/ with the newest file and an updated version.txt

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Is that one built from the latest source in SVN?

Edit:
Just saw your edits. Unfortunately I can't yet build the source in SVN as there are lots of errors (e.g. differing declaration vs definition, probably MSVC ignored them). Gonna fix that some time wink

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Ok, the other way round: Did you commit your latest work to SVN? wink

Yes. If I didn't it is gone forever, by now. Possibly. When was my last commit?

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Yes, which is the same date as the build on your FTP site, which is what was placed on node 233.

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

so as a summary we have
the 3.0 version : no gamma problems but the previous reported problems with weapons time and intro\outro etc ...
and the 2010AE one : gamma issues but others stuff ok.

is the one gumby linked now the same as the 3.0 version or a different version ?

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Looks like it's slightly newer; if Gumby doesn't have more info, I will analyze it tomorrow in Windows.

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Well, the gamma control doesn't work for me with any version of the DLL I can find, including the one on node 233.

Re: Help needed for short Daodan DLL test

Bad news: Source on the server doesn't compile properly
Good news: I found my old working copy
