Where to begin making Oni mods and level scripts?

Hey guys, Just letting you know that I'm interested in making mods again... But I don't know where to start. It's been awhile since I've done any of this stuff. And if I would want to create my own character for Oni, what would I need to create it in? Also for making Oni scripts, etc for a certain level. Can someone point to me where I need to go? Maybe a simple tutorial maybe? I haven't modded Oni since 2007 maybe? Well it's been along time like I said. xD I hope anyone would help me. Thanks in advice, It's been so long that I don't know where to begin. smile

Ok Samer, Might be off topic but I don't feel like making another post. tongue I've downloaded your Dream_Lab mod and characters and put them in my GameDataFolder, etc in the anniversary edition folder. Do you know why the mod isn't loading? None of the characters are loading as well. I've replaced the levels with the mods, but nothings working... Could I have the wrong AE or does it not really matter? When I replace the current levels with the mods, everything looks the same...

I replied on facebook but in case you miss it

you shouldn't have done that .. all you needed to do was download the zip of the dream lab and the sam mega pack characters then extract the folders ... 23906SamDreamLab-Conversion and 22005SamMegaPackCharacters and put them in the packages folder, then u simply run AE installer put a checkmark near these mods and click install .. these are simple packages not plugins (plugin method isn't used any more) so you don't need to replace anything.
also make sure you don't have any other scripts or mods that modify the dream lab.

Ok I'm doing the scripting tutorial. So I was wondering, if I wanted to spawn evil Konoko in EnWareHouse. How can I make her appear? Don't I need a flag as well? Found this in the dream lab level, ai2_spawn evilkonoko Konoko02 what is the appropriate way to spawn evil Konoko in the training area where the shooting stuff is? And what are the flag levels? Thanks. I'm just spawning random characters out of curiosity. Thanks.

Since Evil Konoko isn't by default in the warehouse level you will need to add her by xml editing.

You will need to edit the CHAR file:
http://wiki.oni2.net/XML:BINA/OBJC/CHAR
and add her.

You can find a tutorial to add characters via xml here:

After that just spawn her using BSL like you did before for the other characters.
