Save file gets deleted

Yah I have a problem when playing this game, Every so often my save file just gets wiped clean... pretty annoying when I've got far. Atm I'm using Vista with the patched exe file and dll extension from (I think) this website (thanks for that by the way!), but I remember this used to happen when I used XP too.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed, or if not could someone send me a completed save file that I can use, because I can't find any on the internet except on file front which I'm not a member of. Thanks in advance!

When I try running that program I get told "Failed Assertion: 2"

Am I supposed to put it in a certain folder? I tried it in the main oni directory but no luck
