Oni and Windows 7 x64

I know there s a bunch of places..but being new and unsure where to look I'll just be up front. How do i make it work, and where can I go to get what I need to accomplish this? NO bad links (as designated by Norton/McAfee) please

Here ya go: http://mods.oni2.net/node/54

Just follow the instructions and you should be fine ^^

Oh btw you need a retail version of Oni (not illegally downloaded)

I run a Windows 7 x64 operative system aswell, it worked fine for me.

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

Ok so I have the thing, but the information said 3 files, there is only 2 in the .zip file, and the instructions arent exactly precise on what to do with them

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

You basically replace the binkw.32dll and the oni.exe with the ones you've downloaded, extract both files to the oni folder.

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

Tell me, are you actually able to place it where you should place it or does your computer give you an error?

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

The binkw32.dll file I put in the spot where the first was and same goes for the Oni file...and then all I get is a failed application error.

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

Ah, same problem as I had then: you need to have administrator rights for this to work and you must do the following:
1. Right click your Oni folder
2. Click Properties
3. Click the Security tab
4. Click Edit...
5. Click Add
6. Type Everyone
7. Click Ok
8. Click the top Checkbox under Allow (Full Control)
9. Click Ok
10. Click Ok

After you've done that try doing the same thing as before.

Just get the Anniversary Edition. It'll fix all your problems, and add new content to your game.

Take care Delano or the next disc in Mukade's hands will be yours. wink
(If you didn't burnt it, he will take all your computers and crash your internet connection!)

"Oh btw you need a retail version of Oni (not illegally downloaded)"
I think the point of this was that pirated retail versions are sometimes corrupted. So it's best to come here with an original version. Trouble shooters have less problems to solve and you have a higher chance that you soon can enjoy the game.

No joy, nothing else except that error when I try to start, not even the intro movie, which a clean install does get me

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

lol Speaking of corrupt data, the c-daodan on mod depot also doesn't work for me and I sure have original game data.
Whatever. TOCS is right, get the edition. Its updated engine solve many problems. http://mods.oni2.net/mods/Anniversary%20Edition

(AE is a bunch of fixes plus additional content.)

Re: Oni and Windows 7 x64

a simpler version:

1. Install .NET if you haven't yet: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d … laylang=en

2. Make sure your "Oni" folder isn't "read only" (right-click the folder and open "Properties")
     - Windows refuses to accept to disabling it?
     - This happens often under X:\Program Files
     - Make a new folder on your desktop, let's say "games" and move your "Oni" folder into it
     - disable the "read only" attribute of the "Oni" folder (and its subfolders)

3. Make sure you downloaded AE from Oni Mod Depot
     - What was the link again ? http://mods.oni2.net/system/files/Editi … 010-05.zip

4. Unzip the archive and place the "Edition" folder into your "Oni" folder.

5. Goto Oni\Edition\install and run AEInstaller.exe

6. Close all related Oni windows but not the installer

7. Proceed the installation: click "yes" to globalize. This can take awhile, get a coffee or something. Start the game from inside the "Edition" folder. (run_win or run_full)

So you will not even install one of the HD mods?
http://mods.oni2.net/node/82
http://mods.oni2.net/node/92
http://mods.oni2.net/node/136
You can't know if you don't like them if you don't try them. hmm

Nope, dont use facebook. As for the rest; No, I just want to be able to play the game, maybe in a few months when I get back to home I will try it then, I was planning on getting a new gaming rig anyway.
