Well, all of the symbols are completed. Play tested to make sure they all displayed correctly. Resuming work on the new door textures. And hope to be finished in the next few days.
Speaking of finishing - what number should I use for this and later packages?

24150 for example that way it's close in number to other texture packages ( Severd's, viscious reilly's, HQ training textures and HQAirport textures all are in 241** range)
btw Nice job !

Great work.
I wish there was more people with your enthusiasm for modifying this game.

It's not that easy. There are a couple things wrong with that
-Real life takes away from your time
-Tediousness
-Getting tired and frustrated of working on something
-Or simply losing that burning passion you once had for the game

I understand that.
If more people become involved in a project then you can split the work load.
You can almost break anything down into a tedious task though.
Just living can be tedious.
I have experience with photoshop and making textures.
The annoying part for me was UV mapping and getting the textures organized.
It can be frustrating but seeing the end result of your work sometimes makes it worth it.
Edit: I was going to make an HD video recording of the first level of Oni after the training one but I guess I will wait for this mod just to add the last touch ups.
And I will post links in the comment section of the video to give credit to those separate modders.

I will gladly upload the mod for you when it's done (if you keep making mods after this, then I'll just give you your own Depot account so you can upload them yourself ;-).

They look really good, keep up the good work

Impressive work, you did a great job on the doors. I have to say, I'm not sure consoles need to be 512px... onscreen, they will probably never occupy more than roughly a 256px area so there would be no discernible difference. Since the console TXMPs make up about half of the 264MB package, I'm thinking it will help keep the file size down if you were to scale those textures down to 256x256.

they look real nice Bozzman
I have to agree with Iritscen though about the size of the textures .. 256 would work just as well and make the package smaller, (it took me a while to download on my connection) and after it's extracted it's the biggest package i have at 251 Mb . the HQtraining texture is 70 Mb.
+ bigger resolution means more used memory and unnecessary slow down.

I am not sure what hardware you are running, but there should be no slowdown in a 10-11 year old game+engine.

I could rescale the displays accordingly - however is there a conversion method that doesn't increase the file size by a factor of 100? Most of the original files are only 15KB in size but when converted to TXMP all become 1366KB.
HQTraining has 54 textures at 70MB
BetterDisplays has 212 textures at 251MB
If it had as many textures as mine (roughly 4x) it would have been 280MB.... sooo yeah there's only so much you can do
*Here we go - resized to 256 for displays, got it down to 155MB. (Only saves 2MB on the download though )*

Please don't make assumptions that Oni should always run well on modern machines just because it's an old game. The graphics engine is rather unusual.
Okay, thanks for the resize, Bozzman, I've uploaded the new package to the Depot: http://mods.oni2.net/node/174 . I suggest placing that link in the first post of this thread (and also in the Authoritative thread that's stickied in the Mods forum). Thanks for your contribution! Thinking of doing any other texture work?
