Huge model??

I made a new model, it's mix of Tanker and Elite.
But, there's a problem...
The model is really, really huge (something like Shinatama in dream level or maybe bigger :S )
Here's a picture of him in warehouse level.

EDIT: He's in the ground it looks like his pelvis is his legs.

Re: Huge model??

You can turn it into advantage. Imagine him as big boss big_smile

Re: Huge model??

Well, if you find a way to import his legs then everything's all right. The battle with this gigantic Darth Vader(I mean his helmet) would be amazing. Give him more health, more deadly moves and spawn him in a final stage in compound level and you have super mod. It's only suggestion but maybe it's worth to consider wink

Re: Huge model??

Nitro: What steps did you take to import and export the model?  Did you change the ONCC.xml in any way?

Re: Huge model??

EdT: First I dragged and dropped model in XSI one model then the other one (Tanker and Elite). I swapped body parts and exported it with Crosswalk. Next, I changed name of that TRBS. I mixed TRMA files - copied and pasted Tanker's TRMA and renamed body parts with corresponding Elite body parts. I renamed that TRMA file too. In ONCC file I only changed part with name of TRBS and name of TRMA, nothing else...
Two more things. First, When I make changes in TRBS.dae file (new model) I save it, and when I open it it has some red arrow and when I click on it in name box in XSI it says "Scene_Root1.light". When I delete it, next time it's again there. Don't know if that have something common with that problem. Second, when I make that TRBS.dae file to TRBS.oni file and again make it TRBS.dae file (oni -> dae) it is really huge in XSI just like in game...
I hope you understood me.

Re: Huge model??

Normally, I use Crosswalk Import to select the .dae.

I imported the TRBS for the tanker then the elite.  Deleted the head, shoulders, arms of the tanker.  Deleted everything but the head, shoulders and arms of the elite. Parented the neck to the head and shoulders.  Renamed the body parts, the elite's part were named head2, etc.  Saved the model as a scene.  Exported as .dae in Crosswalk, then imported into Oni.  My Elite tanker was the normal size.  I then converted the .oni to .dae and imported back to XSI and it was the normal size.

So I don't know why you are having the problem. Unless, since you dragged and dropped the model, that made a difference.
Try Crosswalk Import and see what happens.

Here is the .oni file: http://edt.oni2.net/3D/TRBSelite_tanker.oni

Also, nor sure about your Scene_Root1.light.  This is what I see:

Re: Huge model??

I tried that once more but with striker and ninja.
I imported just like you said and I replaced their heads.
I'll attach files so you can see...

Re: Huge model??

EDIT:

I see you are using XSI Mod Tool version 6, I'm using version 7.5, but that's okay, I have a fix for you.

Open the .dae file in a text editor, you should see something like this at the beginning:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<COLLADA xmlns="http://www.collada.org/2005/11/COLLADASchema" version="1.4.1">
    <asset>
        <contributor>
            <authoring_tool>Softimage|XSI version 6 Mod Tool.2007.0814</authoring_tool>
        </contributor>
        <created>2010-12-08T10:23:43Z</created>
        <modified>2010-12-08T10:23:43Z</modified>
        <revision>1.4.1</revision>

Now simply add this after <revision>1.4.1</revision>:

<unit meter="0.1" name="decimetre"></unit>

That will reduce the size of your model.

EDIT2:
Also, keep the version 6 of Mod Tools.  I think Samer is looking for that version.  He is having problems with version 7.5

Re: Huge model??

Yes, unfortunately.
I imported ninja (like you said) and I made his fist bigger.
Saved, imported as .oni exported back as .dae file and imported in XSI.
Huge, again sad
Maybe, not sure, I need to make some changes in settings panel of crosswalk exporting (Crosswalk -> Export -> Settings).

EDIT: Sorry I'm late with reply...

Re: Huge model??

Hey Nitro, the new combo looks awesome! One thing I would menton is that the tanker's neck looks a bit long with the helmet on, you think it would be possible to shorten it a bit? Other then that, it looks superb, keep at it!

Re: Huge model??

One more question do I need to put "<unit meter="0.1" name="decimetre"></unit>" in my ONCC.dae somewhere when I mod combat moves?

Re: Huge model??

Thanks Mukade smile
Here is the package if you want to see how the model looks like.
Iritscene, or someone else, please put this on Oni Mod Depot so other people can download it.

Re: Huge model??

Okay, done: http://mods.oni2.net/node/153 .  Please note that you should not use a "Platform -> Windows" flag unless you are using 32-bit textures for the characters.  Also, it's best to require AEInstallVersion 1.1, not 1.0.  Finally, try to pick a package number near your other packages to help keep things organized.  I've made the changes on this one, just wanted to give you those tips.

Re: Huge model??

No problem, it's just something to keep in mind for the future.  The current AE Installer is 1.1.
