Re: Oni Art Work

Okay here's my own little creation... I want to take up drawing unofficialy, like, not taking lessons, but learning just by practicing, and Oni just seems like THE best outlet for that, so heres my first creation.. Ill post the original drawing and my "digitally remastered" version as well tongue

So yeah.... this is my first worthwhile art piece and I know you guys love to rip on people, so go right ahead.... I know it bears no resemblance except the eye and hair color tongue

Re: Oni Art Work

Actually, that's pretty good.  I like the greyscale one more than the color one.  It just seems that there's more texture in the grey one, which I'm assuming is your original.

Um.... The eyebrows are too high on the digital, the nose seems a bit too sharp, and the eyes, skin, and lips, are a bit flat.

On the other hand, I really love the penciled one.  There's a heck of a lot of emotion in the eyes, the face is intense, and the extra "smudges" add texture to the skin.

But I'm not much of an artist, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

Re: Oni Art Work

Yeah, I'm in full agreement with you, I really prefer the penciled one, but I couldn't go without adding color to it, and I got too carried away with trying to change the picture itself... which is hard to do, harder to coordinate between mouse and computer screen, then with pencil and paper big_smile

Glad you like it

Re: Oni Art Work

Nice!  I love it!  Only thing I don't like is the shoulder armor, cause it's not there.  But that's just a minor preference of mine.

Re: Oni Art Work

If you want to often use that technique I recommend to get a so-called “light box” / “light tracer”.
According to the Internet, it will cost you around 30 up to 120 €/$.
Or you make one yourself. Snapshots: (1) (2)
In that case it might be good to get an LED plate since neon lights in intensive use can heat up and deform slowly the plexiglas ('plastic glass').

PS: Welcome on OCF. smile

Re: Oni Art Work

Griffin looks great!

Might just be my personal opinion here, but the forceshield, I would've thought firepower would've splashed inwardly not outwardly (convex, not concave)

either way, it still looks pretty cool smile
