How do you people motion trails?

I really want to know how you people make those motion trails because they are so cool.
Like when the TCTF swat use Fly Axe Kick and some green motion trails came out.
But how can you make green trails on regular moves? Any ideas? I know it is something to do
with Binary Data project.

Re: How do you people motion trails?

@ONIrules:
Check out this recent thread: people actually complain about the extra trails smile
http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/v … .php?id=40
Follow the links in that thread, and you will get to the Warehouse Mod page:
http://wiki.oni2.net/index.php/ONK:Warehouse#Change_log
The Warehouse Mod messes around with a few trails, so check it out.
The change log has all the information you need (a few examples).
Of course, you'll have to get familiar with Oni Un/Packer and TRAM:

Re: How do you people motion trails?

Thanks geyser for the link and it was really fun when I replaced the DAT and the RAW, but that is not the
point. I just really want to know how to change the codes in the TRAM file so the motion trails comes out
in the regular. Like the TCTF swat used the third combo kick (TCTCOMcomb_k_k_k) some green trails
came instead of being blank. Can you show me how to change the codes in the TRAM file?

Re: How do you people motion trails?

I showed you the changelogs, and they list exactly what changes we made to the TRAM.
The TRAM has a few RAW parts, one of them lists the particle events (trails, dust, etc).
If you want an animation to have trails while it didn't have any in the first place, you can:
A) set up a new list of particle events (i.e., a new RAW part for the TRAM you're working on)
B) not set up anything new, and just make the TRAM use the particle events of another one.
Loser's hacks in Warehouse mods almost always amount to such cross-linking (B).
You need to copy the pointer to the particle list from one TRAM to another.
And then you need to update the particle count in the TRAM you modified.

The particle event list uses labels to address particles, not their actual names.
The labels are bound to the actual particles in every ONCC's ONCP: http://wiki.oni2.net/index.php/ONCP
So if you want to globally modify the appearance of trails for a char, you'll edit the ONCP.

I hope that was clear enough. If it's not please choose an anim you want to hack.
I'll detail the process, and we'll make that into a tutorial we'll put on the wiki.
