Re: Realistic Skies

This would be a great addition for the next version of AE.
By the way, it there any fix for the stupid black lines of the edges of the skybox on the Biolab level?

Anyways, nicely done. big_smile

Re: Realistic Skies

Striker: Do you mean the black part below the horizon?  If so, then its not possible, the texture I used was like that.

If not can you take a screenshot of what you mean.

Re: Realistic Skies

I have a feeling he means the glitch that only shows in Windows in some skyboxes.

This is the thing I'm talking about:

See the black lines of the skybox?

Is there any way to remove them? hmm

Re: Realistic Skies

Striker:  The black lines are the where the textures meet. There are 5 textures that make up the skybox, top, front, back, left and right.  Normally, there is no seam if the textures are made correctly.

However, Iritscen mentioned about a glitch in Windows regarding some skyboxes.  That is apparently what you have.

How does my skyboxes look?

Re: Realistic Skies

I like those black lines! They look like some kind of orbital installation. big_smile

You can call me 3llen. It's shorter and simpler. wink

Re: Realistic Skies

Nice! But good flatpanel monitor just broke, so I can't really see the texture the way it's supposed to look, but even on this old analog monitor it looks good!

Maybe it's possible to patch the engine so that the lines are removed.

Re: Realistic Skies

That would be awesome... the brilliance of EDt's new sky is diminished by the stupid texture lines.

Re: Realistic Skies

Hmm, how would one take away that browish grey effect on rooftops? You know, when buildings get farther away they become all foggy and browny? I was looking at the sky in Rooftops, and the distant buildings took away from the effect majorly

Re: Realistic Skies

I think that's script-based. In some of the OTA scripts it has some fog enabled in some maps, I guess this is the same. You'll have to find that line and delete it somehow.

Re: Realistic Skies

I had those black lines striker is talking about ... on my old computer running windows xp ... once I switched to a new computer with more advanced graphic card they were gone ...  new one running windows 7. so I think it's computer \ hardware related rather than a glitch from Oni itself.

Nice Job on the skies EdT smile

Re: Realistic Skies

That sounds strange.

I've an original copy of Oni installed on my XP with a 260GTX, so I doubt it's hardware based.
Maybe it's the OS switch you did.
