Graphics problem / blurred screen

Hello everyone,

I installed Oni a couple of days ago and I can't manage to make it run properly.
I did install the Anniversary edition as explained, although the game still crashed before fully loading a new game in AE and popped up the "blam" error in vanilla version. After copying the suggested .dll file the game does start properly with both .exes, however this is what it looks like:

Holy cow.  I thought my eyes were going when that picture came up.  I'm probably not able to help, but I'll get the ball rolling for Gumby by asking what your system specs are (processor, OS and graphics card).

Check out the Anniversary Edition Seven at ae.oni2.net!

What's your graphic card? Make sure to update the drivers.

Install some driver from here:

Download a version between 28.x and 60.x.

Thanks. It did help, however I got a C++ redistributable error during the training.

Re: Graphics problem / blurred screen

It crashes during the training section, when all the glass targets are shot and the "Good job" message is given.

What happens if you do Load->Syndicate Warehouse?

It starts without any occurrences, however I haven't played it much yet, so I don't know about what still might happen, and I would like to finish the training level.
What would follow after the glass shooting sequence that makes the game crash?

Re: Graphics problem / blurred screen

Absolutely nothing but a review and Shinatama, you're tutor that speaks to you via neural link, gladly talking about you completing the training sequence, and that you're ready to percept orders from your commanding officer. You then start the game from the warehouse.
Have fun playing!

* If you find problems in other parts of the game, please explain carefully. I had some of them too, they usually get fixed software-level somewhere, in wich I can't help you, but direct you to help.

Re: Graphics problem / blurred screen

Oh, the C++ distro, error is given if you don't have windows updates, wich include C libraries.
Just update what you can with Windows Update. It will recommend you to install them, so do it right away!
Listen to what he said and try multiple drivers, it's as important as updating them. And try to properly clean them.
I also think you need  to play normal Oni first. AE has a few problems with my new computer, and I have never tried it on an older one.
Have my congratulations if you succeed.
By the way, I had a similar video card, I was too young to know about the model, but now I remember. It was a ABIT Siluro MX440 (geforce2) 64MB. And that was in my first computer, with wich i've played Oni and others (with a pentium3coppermine 933).
Now it still works and is in a home-server.

Re: Graphics problem / blurred screen

I have a computer with the same card geforce 2 mx400, and updating the drivers solved most problems with it.

Nothing specific. If you crash at another part, it will narrow it down a lot.
