Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

Vital Flame: That's great news!  But now just to confirm it worked, look in the Oni folder, do you see a folder called GameDataFolderZero?  Also, look in the GameDataFolder, do you see folders such as level0_Final, level1_Final and so on?
If so, then it worked!

When you play Oni as Konoko, she will have the same moves, but you should notice the opponents are more difficult to fight against.  The Brutal Konoko affects how Evil Konoko fights and makes her a much harder opponent.

If you want to play a character with different moves, look at this thread: http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/v … php?id=508  look for the Motoko plugin.  Once you install it, you can shapeshift to Motoko.

Remember, we're at the early stages of modding Oni, so it can only get better as times go on.

Grrr...  Can you try it again, but this time, take note of what messages are in the Terminal window and let me know what it says.

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

Can you try renaming "Oni ƒ" to just Oni and see what happens.

Be sure the edition folder is in the Oni folder.

Can you post a screenshot of the contents of your Oni folder.  Also, run the install edition command again and post the terminal message.

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

Looks like you have a space after the name of the directory Oni:
cd '/Applications/Oni /'edition

It should be cd '/Applications/Oni/'edition

Now you do have the edition folder in your Oni folder, right?  That's why I asked for a screenshot of the contents of your Oni folder, to see if you have everything in the right place.

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

I wonder if he just deleted the ƒ and left the trailing space after "Oni".  That's what it looks like.  I don't actually know why that would be a problem, but I would like to know if he has a space at the end of the Oni folder's name.

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

Some complications when I use 'onisplit':

First, I used the command prompt, change the home directory as 'X:\...\Oni\edition\GameDataFolder', and I was trying to extract the 'BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni', so I did this:

X:\...\Oni\edition\GameDataFolder>onisplit.exe extract:xml xml_dir level0_Final\BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni

It said: the file 'X:\...\Oni\edition\GameDataFolder\level0_Final\BINACJBOMelee' was not found.

There is a misunderstanding here. It thought I was searching the file  'X:\...\Oni\edition\GameDataFolder\level0_Final\BINACJBOMelee' sad!

So I copy the file 'BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni' from the level0_Final folder to the xml_dir folder and typed:

dir xml_dir

And it said there was a 'BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni' file in the xml_dir folder. But when I search for BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni, it said the file BINACJBOMelee was not found!

What a big mistake, just because a space in the file's name!

Can you help me to solve this problem?

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

What if you put quote marks like this :\...\Oni\edition\GameDataFolder>onisplit.exe extract:xml xml_dir level0_Final\'BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni' or "BINACJBOMelee Profile.oni"

Or when extracting rename to BINACJBOMeleeProfile.oni (no space), but when you import back to Oni, add the space back.

Hopefully, one of those ways will work.

I don't know how Windows works, but in Unix, traditionally, you are supposed to escape spaces and other characters.  'Escape' means using a backslash in front of the character, like: "onisplit -command:somefile\ name.oni" for the file named "somefile name.oni".  Don't know if Windows has its own escape character.

Windows has another annoying method that is hard to remember. something to do with tildes. But quotes work just fine for me. smile

Re: Brutal Konoko - just got more brutal...

I'm working to make a melee profile for the custom characters smile

motoko - shinatama bot and the white and black customized chiefs smile

I thought I'll copy parts from other characters who use the moves .

for example for motoko who uses the forward kick throw of tanker
and muro's heavy punch
and red's heavy kick

if i copy the sections of these moves from those characters and paste them in the end of a new profile and give a new id number would that work ?
