Troubleshooting guide

PC

1. Oni blams! (in general)

Get the latest Daodan DLL: http://rossy.oni2.net/files/daodan/binkw32.dll
If that doesn't work, update your video drivers.
Make sure you haven't modified your data in a way that will cause it to crash.

2. Oni loads the levels fine, but nothing is happening.

Your scripts are corrupted, redownload them. (Directions soon)

3. Oni's controls are sluggish.

Close down all other programs before running Oni.
If that doesn't work, then force vsync or get the beta Daodan (link\instructions soon)

Re: Troubleshooting guide

1. ...erm... how do i update video drivers??
the only modifications i made were replacing files with OTA mod files, according to given instructions- on a different level the mod didnt work at all, so could this have something to do with the crash on lv. 14? (although i'm guessing in that case "2. scripts were corrupted"?)

Re: Troubleshooting guide

Not quite. For one, you are only supposed to replace the scripts for the level the OTA was made for.

Re: Troubleshooting guide

ok! the arena folder contains the mods for all the levels, and when i want to use one for a particular level i copy it out of there. should i delete the Arena folder once i've moved all the mods out?
(the thing is there appears to be more than one folder for some levels, one containing the mods and the other containing stuff like arena_death and arena_music and i'm not sure what to do with them)

Re: Troubleshooting guide

No, that's fine. I don't know what to do with the other folders myself, I've never seen em. tongue
