Found this website called TV-Links. The thing I thought you guys might find interesting was Ghost in the Shell. I remember some discussion about this on the old forum, but I wasn't really sure what it was. Anyway, this seems to have 2 complete seasons.

Not bad to have it all in one place... (both seasons of GITS are still on YT)
It's a pity there's no Escaflowne or Ergo Proxy (yet?).
I recommend Cowboy Bebop.

Apart from anime, maybe I'll have a look at Lost...

OK, so maybe Veoh kicks ass after all...
(backing up all the episodes now... )
I believe Ergo Proxy is the best anime ever.
And the closest thing to Oni 2 to this day.
No exaggeration. Totally awesome thing
(tributary to Oni in surprisingly many respects)

EDIT: Hm. Large videos load longer. And sometimes stall.

EDIT2: 60 megs for episode 2 Was about 50 on YT.
But the quality here is much, much better. Happy happy.

If they don't shut Veoh down, it might indeed be a good choice for, say, 400x300 Oni videos.
However, viewing them is absolutely not an option for those of us with slower connections.
And their so-called downloader requires their oh-so-amazing player and an account
So it doesn't exactly replace an AVI/WMV/whatever placed on oni2.net. "However... however..."
I'd still have all the movies hosted on YT in lo-res. Hi-res on Veoh when needed. Cross-linked.

To this point, we have very little stuff deserving hi-res, Oni's graphics being what they are
And there are other limitations on the size due to the CPU load of real-time capture...
Still, we might be getting to the point where "directed movies" can use the extra quality.
I'm thinking of Stamina Rose, Super Beast, Cure for the Itch. I'm getting there...
(actually recorded the most tricky part of Stamina Rose)

BTW, Guido, how about some art for Oni ni Kanabô (not only DemOni)?
(textures, splashscreens, movies, even... manga slideshows welcome )
(my Ambient Suite suggestion still holds... maybe a real-time tablet session?)
(and you can also illustrate the "porn groove" bonus track... more comic )

Wow, they've really changed this site. A year ago it was just a few shows, with most of the youtube links deleted due to legal stuff. It's really FULL now :3

EDIT: I'm still not 100% sure Veoh doesn't suck.
HERE is where the hi-fi version of Astray should be.
I chose to upload it "from URL", and it's been 10 hours now.
On YT, the same video was visible within minutes.
Hope it's just the URL uploading that sucks...

EDIT: It's finally up, but you can only see it from the Serious Konoko series page.
The quality is... well... come and see... Possibly worse than on YT, certainly much worse than on oni2.net.
I sorta hoped veoh would be better that YT in that they wouldn't rescale any video to 538x402-whatever.
Am I supposed to author my stuff in 538x402 exactly, or much higher, because otherwise it'll be screwed up?
Ouch. And fast motion of crisp images is not really what their converter does best. Same for YT

Seriously, why do they have to rescale the video to their standard width? Why don't they let the browser do that?

It doesn't inspire me at all. In all due honesty I am growing sick of this game. I don't even have it installed on my mac, and I don't see a reason to play it any more.

Heck, Guido, you're free to choose what you'll work on (or not), as usual. I can only suggest, sometimes quite randomly
(sorry for the porn groove thing, but wackiness is a key trait of Bungie games... it's well-present in Myth, anyway)

Textures - Given your (lack of) time, I'd say character and environment textures are too ambitious. So if I were you, I'd redesign a few "talking faces" textures.
Konoko's are rather inconsistent ATM (I'm not sure they were all drawn by the same person). Same for Shinatama. And a few others are just plain amateurish/ugly.
Whatever strikes your fancy, definitely, but those "fly-in panels" used during cutscene are something that seems worth "fixing" IMO. Maybe a bit too obvious?

Splashscreens - New main screen (and maybe Options and Load screen) would be cool (probably with some of the better-looking art by Lorraine).
Maybe with a different design for the buttons and GUI, new colors, whatever I'd also add logos for "Daodan Inside" and other labels of ours
Some "MISSION COMPLETE" screens are trivial/ugly, so once again, you can choose to "fix" any of those. The "MISSION FAILED" are mostly OK.

New out-of-game music would be nice, too. Either another theme than Trailer, or a completely different ambience: darker, moodier, atmospheric.

Movies - I meant slideshows, primarily. Hand-drawn anime is obviously time-consuming as anything, so not an option.
But the equivalent of two manga pages, shown as a slideshow over some cool, fitting music... why not? You've committed to more before
Such a nice intro/outro/intermission. As for a more specific request (subject, directions etc), I'm afraid that's impossible at the moment...
Manga telling completely new stories have the problem that those stories must be written first, and in the case of OnK that is not the case yet.
Then again, things like Lost Chapters come readily to mind... an extended intermission between SINS OF THE FATHER and PHOENIX RISING...
I'd be willing to "codirect" these, but of course I'd need to know whether you're at all motivated first, before I develop any further

You draw fast. People like you usually make real-time videos of their drawing sessions (tablet helps) set to music (Power of Seven, NIN, Morcheeba, Cardigans, whatever ).

In all due honesty I am growing sick of this game.

That's a shame. Is it projects like DemOni or "Oni ni Kanabô" or *cough* "Oni 7th Anniversary" that are bringing you down?
Is it the almost-feasible multiplayer? the possible redemption of Oni for Mac by people from Magma or Omni? anything else?
Maybe my Serious Konoko video series on YouTube? Or this whole idea of upgrading Oni from within (think Chrysalis)?

Seriously, I was sorta thinking that we had increasingly more proof on our hands that Oni does not suck.
That it is not dead. "Stamina Rose" etc are intended as such evidence: half tribute, half future prospect.

i watched so much that my broadband speed slowed a heap. its unlimited, but the internet in Australia isn't crash hot.
