Vista Crash, pretty sure it's not like the rest..

Hi, sorry if this is a repeat post but I don't think it is. I have tried many fixes... pretty much everyone I could find on this forum and the related wiki. I never actually get to the point of seeing the intro movie. It *sometimes* crashes with a "blam" message but about 95% of the time will crash with a "oni.exe has stopped working".

No flicker to black or anything, just directly to that message. I have replaced the exe, replaced bink dll, replaced a different dll with another version of patch(different install), added bink exe, and I have deleted the intro movie. Still no change, same crash.

I have even added the oni.exe to my nVidia application manager with the extensions turned On like the wiki suggested. It was after this that it sometimes gave me the "blam" error but still it is almost always a windows error not an oni one. Please help, I cannot for the life of me figure this one out.
Specs:
Windows Vista 32 bit Ultimate
Centrino Duo 1.66 Ghz laptop
1 gig ram
GeForce Go 7400 377 mb

(this may not be current because Ians patch disables logging?? but anyway I think its the same problem)
My startup.exe:

Have you tried removing intro.bik?

Have you updated  your video drivers? (Gah, I need to make a checklist of these things...)

Opps just reported your post by accident with my reply. Anyway yeah... the GO drivers are a pain in the ass to find.. and nVidias site doesn't list one for the 7400?? I'll check it out further... but should be current. And it runs games way more recent than oni on vista. I'd be fairly surprised if this is the issue but i'll dobule check.

Well it is getting stuck on "initializing draw engines..."

Hehe yeah I know that drivers are important, I was mostly just saying I was fairly sure I already had them but upon checking, new ones came out like 3 days ago. So yeah.. in the process of dealing with that.. I'll get back to you relatively soon and will feel very stupid(but happy) if it works.

Wow. Yeah. Sorry I wasted your time.
Stupid HP giving 2006 drivers and dating them 2008. Anyway if anyone has the same problem I had with this nvidia GO card not being supported go to http://laptopvideo2go.com/ and the drivers there will clear that problem right up. Thanks a lot gumby sorry I doubted you.

No problemo. Video drivers are the number one cause of blams, i believe. You aren't the first to think they were updated when in fact they were not. wink
