Hello! i am TaxiService and i come from Halo modding community.
Some days ago i found a copy of Oni in my old ibook (yes, i am a mac user) and started played some.
i noticed that some sounds that are in Oni have been used in Halo too!
i.e.: screaming cannon's projectile makes banshee and wraith noises... reloading plasma rifle's sound is similar to reloading sniper rifle's sound... the sound of the exploding idiots is similiar to sniper rifle's shooting sound, etcetera etcetera...
(btw, Oni and Halo are both made by Bungie, that's why there are same sounds)
...so i thought, why not to create Oni's weapons in halo?!
creating projectiles will be fairly easy, what i need are the weapon models though. <.<
is there some way for you to export them into .obj or .3ds? and even the bitmaps if possible?
Thanks in advance for responses.
PS: also, may someone link to me where to find modding apps for Oni? i've been searching trough the forum but i didn't find 'em. <_< (even if they're for windows)
PPS: sorry if my post may have some syntax errors, but i am italian and i do not speak english sooo perfectly...

TaxiService: If you update your Oni to the Anniversary Edition (http://wiki.oni2.net/AE), you can export the weapon models from Oni. Also, you can export and import the characters.
The texture maps are the same for Macs and PCs.

EdT: i meant, the... uh... map files! (oh, i just notice that they're not called .map in Oni... ) (i meant the GameDataFolder)
I am using an Intel-based mac.
Oni seems not to work here neither with the 1.36 update. (i had to play it on an older machine with PowerPC processors)
Do you people have heard about any analog case?
and, even when installing the Mono framework, the anniversary edition seems not to work. <.<
Anyway, i have a friend that's interested in OniWeaps2Halo that will soon get a windows OS, and so be able to export ONWC to OBJs.
Yeah, i think i've got everything i need.
Your help have been useful. I will eventually come back if i encounter moar problems.
Arigatō for everything by macgamingmods.com! ^-^

TaxiService: This works on Intel Macs: http://edt.oni2.net/files/Oni.zip
You might want to use AETools to install AE: http://wiki.oni2.net/AE:Anniversary_Edition_Tools
I have another version that has more features, but its still WIP, but you can read about it here:

I think how nice it would be if you add a SBG (gun) in Halo. It's a portable mortar which shoots grenade like the grenade-launcher and it can wiped out many enemies in a large area. Your enemies will floating in the air. Really fun when you use it !!

you mean the superball? SuperBallGun? XP
yeah, i thought about that. i've seen chain-spawning projectiles before, so i think it's possible too!
i am not sure about phase stream projector's projectile.
i mean, it is possible to make it, but the "stream" that you see will be impossible to make in halo. <.<
Does anyone of you mod Halo anyway? between the versions i prefer modding Halo Demo (Trial for windows).
It's a tiny bit more complicate to mod, but it's free! so everyone can play it legally. And there're better players on it. <.<
