Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

I like it...and finally beat it...

CHEATS I HAD TO USE:

Fatlootx2
Chenille
Carousel

sad Wayy too many guns...and 1500 hp means you have to wait for it to drain to base max health to do any good...which means you have to go deal with the minions...but I did it smile

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Don't worry about the guns; I dropped a few of them (but only a few tongue)

I may lower the health of the boss a notch. However, based on the save point you load with the next version of this script, the boss will have less health as it goes on.  However, same thing with your partners.

So, you may not have to use cheats to beat the next version of it, but it'll be very difficult tongue

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Okay...difficult I can take...as long as you removed some guns...because that is my main hp drain...I may still use carousel though, just for fun ^_^

Cool, this works on the Mac!  Its not that difficult, all I do is go into Dev Mode, press F6 and that kills all the AI!!! smile

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

To EdT - It actually works on Mac!?! That's...well, I can't think of the word, but I'll use 'unexpected'. I'm still not too sure of version-specific commands, so to have made it compatible for both PC and Mac is somewhat of a suprise.

On that, I've decided to NOT add Barabas into the future version of this script. The problem is that, depending on the save point, the "Barabas" model has a different spawn ID. Thus, the functions I write are unable to handle the different ID's, and keep bugging up my script.  Expect something else though...

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

You can a list of functions here: http://wiki.oni2.net/OSL:Functions that shows which ones work and don't work on a Mac and the PC demo.

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Or...you could have Barabus always spawned first, thus giving him an ID of 1 >_>

Just stick his ai2_spawn wayyyy up at the top of the script...

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

The problem with that is the opening cutscene - you have the receptionist, the two partners, and the two enemies from the right BEFORE the potential Barabas.

Besides, I've worked something out. It's no Barabas, but I feel it could come close.

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Well damn. It took a while, but I finally finished 'One Tiny Mistake' Version 2.0! big_smile  What's added?

- 'Improved' opening cutscene
- Save Points
- More balanced waves
- Ending cutscene that ties the script into Level 3 (well, sorta...)

Watch for the cameo appearance from a former 'major star' tongue

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Version 2.0 seems to spawn Barabus and a Striker and then kill Barabus during the cutscene -- rather humorously, I might add.

Also, 2.0 is far too easy.

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

Much easier...too easy big_smile We are picky tongue

Of course, in my version, once you beat it, it switches to the next level...which has dreamlab's OTA in it...and whatever spawn point they are spawned at...the immediately die...so...yeah...it spawns 200 guys and kills them -_- (with sad music)

Time for bed O_O

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

It was challenging for me until I thought to run upstairs and take out those blasted guys with energy rifles.  Then I just let the action downstairs bring a guy or two at a time up to me, and I fought them without getting ganged up on from all sides.  Which is valid combat strategy, by the way (retreating to funnel the pursuing enemy and avoid being surrounded).  It's not cheap at all. tongue

And yeah, what is up with Barabas running out and suddenly having a seizure and falling down? smile  "Ah, forgot to take my meds!  Urk!"

Re: 'One Tiny Mistake' - IfD's first script!

I'm assuming that was intentional, considering the reference to the "cameo appearance". big_smile

But, yeah, Iritscen, that's a waste of ammunition, really -- the enemy's ammunition, that is, cuz you could be having them shoot each other instead. Just dash around between 'em, jump-flipping over 'em or doing running throws, so that they shoot each other while trying to hit you. The few bullets that get through shouldn't do much to your forcefield.
