Wow, that's fascinating. lol
I really want to try these weapons, however, I've got a problem here. hmm

I have setup Oni and put the AE 2010-05 "Edition" folder in "Oni" folder, and I globalized AEInstaller.
Then I downloaded the RAR file on #1 of this article, extracting it, putting it into Oni\Edition\install\packages
(it covered the former "12000 NewWeapons" of course)

But later when I opened up AEInstaller found there was no "New Weapon Collection" option.
(I've known the name because I was successful to install it once, but even at that time, those weapons didn't showed up in OniAE)

I really didn't know what to do then, I really want to experience these guns. sad
Is there any procedure wrong? Please tell me about the right way to have these awesome weapons successfully show up in OniAE. big_smile

Ew, where did you get the 2010-05 AE? hmm   Please install the new one here, and the mod will appear as an option to download and install.

Is it right to download the latest version here?

Excuse me, guys. I have another question want to ask:

Where would these new weapons emerge? Levels? Arena of Hurt? Junkyard? Other place?

Even though I've got AE seven and complete mod installation, however I didn't saw them when I randomly load on a level or Arena of Hurt and Junkyard.

I was really confused, does anyone kind can help me? >_<

Press F1 .. Then x .. Then F1 .. Now use F7 to cycle through weapons smile .. They won't spawn anywhere on their own, unless they are put in the levels which requires extra modding .. (if you like to know more about that, you can start a new thread in the modifications section smile or search about it on the wiki)

edit: or you can use a command chr_giveweapon # wx_xxx where # is number of character (player is 0) and x are the weapon's name as written in the screenshots( i'm not sure i typed the command correctly, it's on the wiki though)

Wow, it works! Weapons are super!  cool

But a little problem is: while I was using the grenade launcher, whole game blackout. yikes
Then left a message: Damn! Oni crashed.  mad

Is there anything wrong? Just want to understand it. smile

Oh, I see. The"New Weapon Collection" may contribute to Oni crash.
Initially I installed "Blood", "Complete glass mod", "Devastator Weapon", "Iron Demon" with "New Weapon Collection".
So that was how I got crash message when I using grenade launcher.

Later I follow your suggest, only all the custom characters and new weapon collection were keeped.
But the crash happened again when I played as BGI agent(through F1, x, and F8)and tapped shift then right mouse button.
(what I said is the way Konoko perform the Devil Spin Kick)
So I uninstalled new weapon collection, all custom characters are performing well now. Thanks for suggestion Samer! big_smile

if you want to play the weapons uninstall BGI hammer .. or hayate+hanako .. hopefully a fix for this is on the way by increasing the particle limit.

Is there a limit to how many weapon diary entries are allowed ? I've added a few more for the custom weapons, (now total is 10 custom weapon diary pages) the problem is they're replacing the diary pages of the original weapons ... only wmc, tap and sap pages remained. If I remove one page, one original weapon page reappears ... is there a way around this ?

Yes.

is there a way around this ?

No smile

The limit is 15, though the Mac Intel build supports 30 pages for some reason.

Change Log:

*Fixed laser sight positioning and particle emitter position for several weapons. (WMC lite, lazer rifle, BGI pistol, dart shotgun sniper and others)
*Fixed AI aiming for several weapons (grenade launcher, rocket launcher, laser rifle, dart shotgun and others)
*Changed aiming of rocket launcher to aiming tunnel instead of laser sight.
* Added a new weapon "Rocket Launcher 2.0" which has homing scram rockets shot continuously as primary firing mode, and explosive rockets for secondary mode. (used the particle from better weapons pack)
*Changed colors of aiming tunnel \ laser sight of several weapons (BGI pistol, Devil star cannon, dartshotgun sniper and others)
*Switched primary and secondary firing modes of some weapons (laser rifle, telekinetic bracelet) and made the tractor of w13_muro more powerful.
*Changed the primary firing mode of w24_psr3 to a more powerful phase streamer and moved the green electric thunderbolt to the secondary firing mode thus removing the screaming cell mode.
*Fixed diary entries for weapons whose screenshot or description doesn't fit the modified versions and added description to those that didn't have it. (rocket launcher, grenade launcher, BGI pistol)
*Added new diary entries for: shotgun, dart shotgun sniper, and rocket launcher 2.0.
*Removed diary entries of weapons missing description like chaingun, machine gun, and devil star (they are still included in the folder called diary pages as xml in case they're needed sometime) so they don't overwrite too many of the original weapons
*fixed an infinite ammo bug with the assault rifle.


Known issues:
some weapon diary pages of the original weapons will be replaced with the custom pages. If you don't want the new pages delete the folder called 'diary pages' from the package.
