Well what do you think is going to be their next move? My bet is they'll go independent. They could still get tonnes of money that way. Look at Blizzard.
I hope, whatever they do, that they return to Mac. Any company who publishes cross-platform immediately has my seal of approval. It's not as if it's too hard.
Anyway.
Speculate.
Bite off more than you can chew... then chew like hell!!!

German interview with Bungie's studio manager Harold Ryan. He says that Oni isn't a part of their next projects.

From Babelfish translation:
4Players: Where we are straight with strong Franchises: Now perhaps is a revival of Oni in view?
Harold Ryan: (laughs) Oni does not belong to the projects, which we look at ourselves more exactly at present. But one is to never never say and we would be pleased to co-operate again with the persons who made Oni possible at that time.
Can someone please give a better translation.

4Players: Speaking of strong franchises: is perhaps a revitalization of Oni on the horizon?
Harold Ryan: (laugh) Oni doesn't belong to the projects that we're looking at carefully at the moment. But one should never say never and we would be delighted to work with those individuals who back then made Oni possible.
I wish people would remember that Bungie does not own Oni anymore and hasn't since 2001.

Harry: Thanks for the translation. We can only hope Bungie will buy back the rights to Oni, if not, then we'll just keep hacking along.

And? They can make a similar game and use another name.

I thought most of Bungie West's employees joined the rest of Bungie to work on Halo after Oni was finished.

Of Bungie West only Dave Dunn and Chris Butcher stayed to this day.

I posted on the official Bungie forums to probe their actual dedication to Oni.
You can read the talk here: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx … 1#13727982
I'll probably post again, just to make sure they know exactly what's going on.
I.e., that the Seventh Anniversary will happen even if they've turned the page.
Speaking of the Anniversary: Harry, how about bringing Oni Central back online?
You know I'd be quite happy with the old site as it was, maybe with new colors...
I think the sepia one will look great with negated colors. Should be electric blue.
Behold the power of that which is yet unborn! For the swirling images that flow forth from the Chrysalis are only a shadow of the sleeper's true power.
