Fulfilling old request of some forum member (was it Yoriko?). Somebody stated it is a pity that A.I. does not attempt to dodge line of fire but starts with evasive behavior only AFTER the gun is fired. Well, watch the video and see for yourself that it is possible to make A.I. characters perform evasive behavior if enemy aims in its direction, no firing needed. The implementation is not too difficult nor too heavy on engine, just two invisible basic particles added to each weapon.

WATCH VIDEO HERE

Wow, great to see that enemies get smarter and smarter. Good job!

Re: Movies

Coming from the melee profiles thread, the idea of more interesting Barabus showdown. WATCH HERE.

Earthquaker move is altered into Energy blast. It first saps energy from near surroundings, creating strong attracting force. Then all energy is released in one strong blast (deals between 100 ~ 150 damage). The move is powerful but the blast is so strong it damages Barabus as well, he loses 50 HP per use. Thus A.I. is set to use the move sparringly.

Barabus's jetpack is fully utilized, making him quite mobile. The jetpack works in pulse mode, meaning Barabus cannot "fly" but can use short strong bursts to make up for the lack of dexternity. Also, some flaming of the opponent's face is never a bad idea ^_^.

So, what do you guys think?

Re: Movies

That's really cool! The only thing I would suggest is, if at all possible, find a better particle for the final burst of energy. I dunno, the explosion just doesn't seem right. If you can't find anything else, then it'll do fine though. Great work!

Re: Movies

I agree with Mukade, make the *energy blast* less like an *explosion* and it's A+.
Totally keep damage-inflicting jet pack escapes, they are/look great.

Re: Movies

Oh... uhm. You remember the cutscene where Muro turns into Mutant Muro? There seems to be some sort of energy blast at that point. I wonder if you could find and use that?

Re: Movies

Jetpack-dashing is awesome!
The only problem is it triggers the boss shield.

Re: Movies

Any chance the jetpack-dash can be used by the player when shape-shifted to Barabus? smile

Re: Movies

From what I can tell, it looks like the ninja's shadow dash with increased range and a jetpack particle, so I'd assume that yes, you could use it.

Re: Movies

I love Barabas' jetpack dodging.  As far as the Earthquaker change, I could take it or leave it...  Seemed fine before.  But the jetpack thing, I like the added dynamic there.

If we don't change the direction we're going, we'll likely end up where we're headed.

Re: Movies

PS2? Part 13 and barely level 3? No use of combos? Repeated deaths? This is a recipe for disaster D:

Re: Movies

Heh, it's an infinite loop of parkour.  They really didn't do a good job of hemming in the player during the Mukade fight.
