Re: Anyone ready for Christmas?

I was horribly stressed out till today....so now I can start thinking about presents and stuff... Aaaargh, Christmas will kill me this time for sure

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.
or should I?
You know what I'd like to be?
I mean if I had my goddamn choice, I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all.

Re: Anyone ready for Christmas?

How can one dislike holidays?

I love New Year (our Christmas is a religious holiday, celebrated in January), but my birthday goes first, 16th of December. Can't wait for it to come smile  I wish I could celebrate non-stop without being distracted by the winter exams  sad

Re: Anyone ready for Christmas?

I don't like Christmas cause of all the Christmas shopping everyone will be doing, People will be rude and crap lol. It sucks because if you want something, People will try to beat you to it >_> And I don't like new years either because everyone will be drinking and partying XD

Who knows? Maybe Shade is a hikki like "L" on his avatar and he doesn't like when there is too much people around? =3

New Year is some sort of a trigger. When it activates all mobile operators are down.

Re: Anyone ready for Christmas?

I'm not ready for Christmas at all. My studies are reaching new heights of awesome this semester, which can be pretty absorbing, and I didn't get around to more than some half-assed christmas shopping and a bit of practising of christmas songs on the cello cause I'll have to play on christmas eve. Nothing like last year when I was thinking of and preparing for christmas all december.

I hate new year's eve. It never comes at the right point.

I join. I'll probably spend new year's eve playing PlayStation with my sister. The day just doesn't mean anything to me. I want a proper Samhain celebration or nothing cool

Re: Anyone ready for Christmas?

Proper Samhain celebration - you mean in Ireland and with cow sacrifices? smile

I don't like Halloween, and I don't understand people who like to call it Samhain. Samhain doesn't exist now. It was a festival dedicated to the harvest and the dead, and today Samhain-lovers wouldn't tell wheat from rye, not to mention know what death really is. hmm

When I mean Halloween, I say Halloween. I mean the cow sacrifice thing tongue
And we don't have to call it Samhain (especially since I don't live in Ireland anyway), it's more that I don't "feel" any connection between what goes on on new year's eve and any kind of transition from one year to the next. Samhain customs at least had a point.

btw, I can tell apart rye and wheat perfectly well smile rye is sticky.

Until we stopped believing that a tree can be a god smile And surely not for city dwellers. Anyway, New Year has a point: you don't work, you get presents, you are in a happy company and you can drink like a thirsty Shoggoth. Slaughtering a cow is also fun, but you don't get a day off. big_smile
