Oni Textures

Hi guys!

I'm upgrading some of those textures. (Just level 4) And here are some Screens:

I hope you like it But please tell me if this is not allowed! If it is so, I'll delete these files and reinstall Oni.
But when you really like it and if you want to have it, can someone tell me, if I really have to upload those .dat files or can I create my own .dat files, without overwriting the old ones?

Ofcourse it's allowed to mod your game.

You might wanna increase the textures resolution as it looks pretty blurred.
Anyways, nice idea adding that stonish look to the new textures!

I used the OniUnpacker and it don't work with textures bigger than 256x256 Of course I'll make them very big (maybe 2048x2048) but I don't know how I can do this.

You should take a look at the AE, it might help you alot.
When having that installed you can create a package (in the AE section), where you add your textures.
Oh and by the way, the textures resolution limit is 512x512 at the moment.

What is AE and where can i get it? Sorry about this qestion but I really don't know it
512x512? With which version? I took the newest version i found and it's 0.35a. can you send me a download link, if you find one?

AE is a abreviation of Anniversary Edition, which is a project the community runs here on the site.
It adds alot of new stuff, such as characters, weapons improved AI etc.

There is a section here for the mod, you migh wanna check it out.

EDIT: And the latest version let's you create packages for easier modding.

Okay, first you'll need to install AE. There is a section called "Anniversary Edition", where you'll find the newest release.
Next, look at this page http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/v … hp?id=1030 it has a detailed description on how you create your own packages.

Those textures end with .txmp. Do i have to use .bmp or something to see it ingame?

mmm no u don't

here's what u'll be able to do u can convert the dat files to smaller txmps.oni files

these files are the textures

u can convert them to tga or to png and edit them and convert back to txmp with resolution to 512x512 max

after that u'll make a package of them and publish it here and we can easily install it ^_^ and uninstall it, that's the beauty of AE everything is reversible with a simple check uncheck button

take ur time to explore all the AE has to offer
and don't hesitate to ask for help ^_^

for now :

1- download the AE and install it and try some of the packages that come with it

2- check this out to see what other members have made like many new fun characters

3- since u're into texturing I recommend u try this package "Severed Textures" it replaces the textures of Konoko and other characters with hig resolution really good looking ones http://mods.oni2.net/system/files/24000 … xtures.zip

4- Now after letting all that sink in

and trying it ... tell me so and I'll try to post a more detailed tutorial on replacing textures

there's an easy utility made by our member demos-karatos that automatically does the package for u and makes a lot simpler to convert all these things

Thanks for that program. It is really very good with all these options, I downloaded the OniSplit.exe and when I click on "textures" and PNG/DDS ... --> TXMP I get an .oni file

Damn its so hard Which name has to have this file? The same name like the texture in game? I mean with this in OniUnpacker? I create a folder named "textures" in the "package" folder. And there i add a folder with the name "oni".
There i create a folder named "level4_final" and inside there a folder with the name "level4_textures" and there i add this .oni file, which i created with this OniSplit program. The name of the .oni file is "TXMP00135-AIR_FLOOR003000.oni" The name of this texture in the OniUnpacker is "00135-AIR_FLOOR003000" but which name need it??? Can someone tell me this? Please, its my first mod

TXMPAIR_FLOOR003, probably. But I don't know which texture you are talking about.

Is that right? But i can not see my textures with this mod (I have solarized the texture with Irfan View, but i can not see my changes)

Thank you! The textures for Level 4 are done and I saved them as .PNG. But you need to rename them (i think) that you can see them ingame
