Mac report: apparently the PPC version cannot handle the 512x512 textures for the characters.  My computer slows down to a crawl and of course there is the problem with the reflective textures being the wrong color.  Solution would be for me to make a PPC Mac version with 256x256 textures and swap the color channels.  I can probably do that after the China mod is done.

On the Mac Intel beta, works fine, looks great, only the load time for a level is longer.

ouh sad that kinda sucks :\ ... ok hopefully when u get the time Edt .. Or maybe someone else with a Mac who isn't actively modding right now can help us tongue .. maybe if i get the time I'll make a 256x256 version .. although i only used the 512 format on some textures not all ..

Thank u Samer for doing ur best in enhancing one of the amazing classic games of the last decade. And let us hope Bungie make a new version of the game, I believe they will make a good amount of money out of this!

No, they won't. Oni is not kind of game for todays game trends. Kids want easy, fast-paced games with ultra high graphics, checkpoints every damn second and so on. May the legend rest in peace.

Samer, I wrote you a message on facebook, but you did not reply. There’s something wrong with SeverED Konoko textures you’re using (is it just an old version?):

1. SeverED textures from your mod (23950CharacterRetexture is the only mod installed).
2. Clean AE (no mods installed).
3. SeverED textures from AE (24000SeveredTextures is the only mod installed).

(1) uses TXMPenvmap for reflectivity and there’s no such texture, while (2) and (3) use TXMPenvksface.


I have a PC engine, Windows, clean AE 2010-05a (mods.oni2.net/node/79) and default Daodan_DLL from AE.

well actually there has been several Severed versions besides the 1 and 2 .. I used the early 1, the newer AE has another version, which i guess other modders modified not Severed himself, the one i used is the original version 1, it didnt have reflectivity or it might have lost the envmap on conversion, u'll also notice that the one with the AE has shinatama's eyes blue and reflective face, while the one i used doesn't. I personally prefer that version that's why i included it.
So that was intentional, u can use my package alone to get the original Severed version 1, or u can use my package and also check the AE Severed package to get the newer version 1 and my textures, or u can download and use severed version 2 (also u can use it with my package) u'll get all my textures but the newer Severed textures instead of the older ones. There's no compatability problem. So check both my pack and severed if u want the reflective. Or if u don't want to use 2 packs .. Replace the TXMPkonoko face in mine with the one from AEsevered.

I'm very impressed from your new textures. smile
I like them very much, but if I install your re-texture package v2, I have the same problem on my PC, like TheCreature under Mac.
The textures of Griffin and Blackops are red and the textures of the Light TCTF and Swat TCTF are pink.

I use XP SP3 and a NVidia Geforce 8600 GT with 512 MB.
I have installed the packages 23950CharacterRetexture and 24000SeveredTextures.
Have I done something wrong or what can I do, that the textures look correct on my PC?

You may need to update your AEInstaller onisplit.

thanks tracker smile, yes that's a common problem, due to old onisplit, if u check the first post, i mentioned u should have onisplit version 0.956 or above .. U can check ur version by right clicking the onisplit.exe then properties and details .. I'm sure when u update ur onisplit they'll work perfectly smile. U can find it on the depot. Don't forget to hit install again after u replace the onisplit with the new one. Keep me updated smile

I copied onisplit.exe v0.9.61.0 in the folder Oni\Edition\install, reinstalled the both texture packages with the AEInstaller and now the new textures are displayed correctly.

mm just noticed a little bug .. It's probably unnoticed but .. it bugs me tongue

My retexture package is supposed to also correct the mid and wrist textures of konoko in all her outfits to match Severed

Ironically though if you install Severed's with mine it will overwrite them by the old ones ..

I think they were included in Severed's package by mistake to avoid that delete those 2 files from Severed's pack
TXMPIteration002%2Fk4_mid_jkt_B   and    TXMPIteration002%2Fk4_jkt_wrist


Also latest Severed Pack currently on the depot apparently includes VR's tctf konoko outfit .. which is a nice alternative to Konoko HD ..
number 1 in the screenshot .. however if you get 2 instead and don't want it

this is why i think it's important that we don't include unannounced additional stuff in our packages

P.S I updated the Severed Textures pack on the depot to correct the issue and added comment abt VR's outfit to the description and creaters.

Seems this package is crashing my Oni at the very beginning of the final battle of old china. Works well without it.

Do you have this problem? Or it may be another of my packages conflicting with this one?

I tested it .. no I don't ... maybe you have too many packages or something related to the particle error i was talking about .. (many characters would be using contrailed moves there) try keeping character retexture and remove other packs. As a texture package it shouldn't have any incompatibilities.

s10k character retexture doesn't cause a crash for me but it does crash if installed with bgi hammer or\and other packs discussed here: http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/v … hp?id=2567

I believe it's a texture max size problem. I've removed the follow packages:
Realistic Skies and HD Training Room Textures. And it now works without crashes.

It may be also related with the exploding mine particles at the begin of that savepoint.
