After about 4 hours with no good result, I decided to throw out a question here around, as someone might be able to help. I want to convert a .mkv 720p video into .mp4, without transcoding anything/too much. I'm pretty much a retard at this point, so if someone could guide me a little..

Mkv converting is a pain in the arse, to be quite honest.

This might be solved but for future reference, I found this great site awhile ago that can convert almost any format into almost any format, and not just music either, we're talking images, videos etc..
perfectly legit, fast, easy to use, no downloading required, I fell in love with it, no hours of searching through scam, trial, and non-functional programs

Format Factory is a great freeware to convert all types of video files to other types (including mkv and mp4)
also converts audio and images to other types.
get it here : http://www.pcfreetime.com/
i've been using it since ever, one major appeal is that it's very fast.

As far as I know bit rate is the setting that determines the size of your files and the bigger of the size, the higher the quality is. You should set it to suit your players requirements. And frame rate is something related to the fluency of the video. And there are other settings too. You can google it. And choose a simpler tool is a good idea. I once used ojosoft converter, it has an edit button, you can freely set your parameters by clicking it and there are many choices for you. Additionally, settings are very clear. You can try it.

Hmm, you are right about Bit Rate.
FPS means Frames per Second and it says how many frames (different images) will be showed per second to you, kind of like how fast the video will play, giving the illusion of movement.
I'm not sure about movies, but I know it is not like in games. Wikipedia says something similar to 25 FPS will work, but I'm not sure...
If you are unsure about something, ask here or do as cliff said.
