Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

Well, I got Konoko in-game, however, there is a number of skinning errors that I need to somehow fix.  Fortunately, there is another modder that is helping me.

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

I wonder how Konoko would look like if she was a furry

OMG, I wished we could make/play levels with such lighting effects.

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

From OG Forum (Referencing Konoko's texture maps):

EdT wrote:

I wasn't able to make the texture map larger than 1024x1024, because Oni is an old game so the original textures were 128x128 or smaller.

Is this somewhere I could assist? I don't know how different the technique will be compared to Oni, but I'm willing to take a shot at upgrading the textures for higher fidelity.

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

Bozzman: I used Konoko's textures from this package: http://mods.oni2.net/node/92 the size was 256x256.
Did you download the files for Overgrowth? http://edt.oni2.net/OG/Oni.zip The texture file is in there.

The main problem right now is the distorted mesh.  I need to figure out how to fix that.

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

I concur Knox, most certainly. Now there's even a bigger reason for me to get that game. And who knows? Maybe it would be possible to create firearms in a later alpha.

Is it just me or do the models of Striker and Konoko look awfully low-polygon?

EDT said there's a 5000 polygon limit or something.

Maybe I already said this, but at least they have dynamic shadows now.

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

So, how the hell does the default furry thing look that good with less than 5000 polygons?

And how the hell does Konoko have more than that?

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

Certified: They use Object space normal mapping to make it look good. http://blog.wolfire.com/2009/09/normal-map-vs-mesh/
Konoko has about 2,700 polygons, I simply exported the character models from Oni.

I was able to get a couple more characters into Overgrowth:

Re: Overgrowth and Phoenix Engine.

Have you tried making your own animation with the alpha EdT?

Maybe you can try remaking the oni characters skelleton in OG or importing it if you can.
