how to get AE working?

i just downloaded the Anniversary Edition, installed it exactly as the read me said to, and when i click on the icon to launch the game my screen blinks and it doesn't start?

can anyone tell me what i can do to get it working right?

Hmm, can you post the contents of the startup.txt file that is beside the Oni.exe that you're opening?

Post the path Edition is installed to and the Globalize and Install logs

and i'm not sure how to find the path it's installed to, but if it's in any way helpful, the Edition folder i downloaded is on my desk top and that's where i installed it and tried to run it from.

All these "C:\Users\Nick\Desktop\Edition\" hint that you didn't put the Edition folder into the Oni folder.
(The installer doesn't search for your Oni installation so you have to help it a bit.)

If you have a shortcut of Oni on your Desktop (or somewhere else from where you start the game) you can right-click it and open its "Properties" window. The path to your original Oni is shown there.

Just put Edition folder in Oni folder, if you don't know where is your Oni folder find path of it (see above).
If you installed Oni on C disk it should be something like this: C:\Program Files\Oni.
