Re: Favorite anime?

I watched Elfen Lied, and I loved it. Even though it contained nudity, lots of blood and cruelty, I think the show's qualities really layed elsewhere..

T_W_D:

Yeah, picking out extremes. I can prove Russia is sick in the same way.  hmm

I'm not afraid of being attacked.

The second photo is kinda cute.

And a lot of "Classmates" photos are considered sick even here. Don't tell me your own country is totally free of retarded attention whores.

T_W_D, that was kind of the point I think, that every country has oddballs who you just kind of like to ignore.

Some countries' oddballs are seemingly far more odd than others'.

Yes. But they are good at playing guitar.  yikes

I come from Belgium, the country that is famous for its waffles, beer, fries, chocolate and...  paedophiles. You come from Russia, known for its horrid tortures during WWII and Sowiet Union. Point being: every country has its idiots and stereotypes running around, but they are not representative for the country. Belgium isn't inhabited by chocolate-eating childrapists. Russia isn't filled with wodka-drinking communists. Japan probably isn't filled with tentaclerape/lolicon-lovers.

Reason  I said I'm not attacking you, is that people on the internet can't seem to have a discussion without it finally coming down to namecalling and other childish behaviour.

Who saved you from Hitler, may I ask?

Japan probably isn't filled with tentaclerape/lolicon-lovers.

I've been in Japan. Three times. They aren't all tentacle rape lovers, but they are kinda weird, and anime for them is not a subculture, it's a part of their actual culture. Even the word "hikikomori" is from Japan.

They probably thought you were kind of wierd too. wink In any case, the reason the word "hikikomori" is from Japan is because it is a Japanese word...

Russia and the US. I'm not blaming Russia for anything, just using stereotypes as an example. But okay, I can use that same example outside of WWII as well: ГУЛАГ. (at least, Wikipedia tells me to write it like that). But that's totally next to the question.

I'm just saying that every country has its stereotypes, but they don't apply to everyone who lives there. May I ask you again: are you a wodkadrinking torturer?

Yes, if manga is part of their culture, so be it. Americans have comics and cartoons.

Hikikomori is a Japenese word. But the historical term 'De Apartheid' is a Dutch word, and not every Dutchman is a racist. wink

I like vodka... I'm going to work at FSB... Oh shit, I really am! tongue

History mistakes are one thing, weirdness and dorkness are another. Note that I don't blame Japan for attacking our Far East or being on Hitler's side later. I think anime is sick, that's all.

Re: Favorite anime?

well my favorite anime (back in MS) was naruto, bleach, uh...uh...that's it. DBZ is pretty much the best and gives the stereotype of anime people having really spiky hair. Also i like the other kind of anime...you know the bad one...
nevertheless i do enjoy anime movies that are sci-fi or action, but not shonen jump or big anime corps.
well cowboy bebop was good

I've only ever watch Claymore... although the Story got really bad near the end, cause they were trying to wrap it up too fast tongue

Re: Favorite anime?

Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, High School of the Dead, and Death Note are a few of my favorites. I don't believe i've enjoyed anything as much as Code Geass, so that would be my ultimate favorite. Though if video game anime is included, Persona 3 definitely ties with it.
