Yeah, ive seen that trailer a long time ago. It looks really great but i wish they would show more of it or give out a release date. If i had a PS3 this would be a must buy....maybe one of my friends will buy it so i can play tongue

Re: Mirror's Edge

Yeah, I am looking forward to this, although I haven't gotten around to getting a PS3 yet, so I don't know whether I will be able to play it....  Hmm, I wonder if we can make Oni run in first-person mode... big_smile

Re: Mirror's Edge

I heard they placed a reticule in the middle of the screen that helps anchor your vision so you don't get motion sick.  Plus, as with any video game, once you know what moves produce what movement onscreen, your eyes lead in that direction as you perform the move to prevent dizziness.  Although, observers are still going to get sick... :-)

Did you watch any of the other videos? There's tons there!

And it's going to be released on November 11th for Xbox 360 and PS3. PC release is later in the year.

Re: Mirror's Edge

isnt it also going to be for the PC?
why get a 360 or a PS3 if you can get it for your computer... though i guess most of us probibly dont have high end computers that would be able to play it. still, i'd rather have a nice computer then buy a whole system for one game. i guess once you had the system youd get other games, but i donno... i think i got lost in my thoughts somewhere....

You have stumbled upon the endless debate between PC gamers and console gamers.

I will get this game, if I have money. Which isn't likely,

...but it looks good.

Re: Mirror's Edge

Combat mechanics are terrible and you're forced into combat moments, some of the level designs are uninspiring, and it just feels like the whole thing goes nowhere.

Re: Mirror's Edge

Bummer, you'd think level freedom is the least they could provide for a game like this.

Re: bad combat controls, well, I guess Oni isn't going to get a successor any time soon after all.  neutral

Re: Mirror's Edge

Oh it's totally linear, everyone knew that from the start.

If you want complete freedom with even more repetitive gameplay, get Assassin's Creed.

Re: Mirror's Edge

Booo, and here my expectations were shattered. Oh well, no reason to get a new PC after all^^ Might as well save the money then

Re: Mirror's Edge

Yeah, that game is very disappointing. It's just... like... boring. I don't really feel the "vertigo" that the first person view is supposed to provide. I would have preferred it in 3rd person, at least I wouldn't spend half of the time looking at a wall close-up because I failed a jump.

Re: Mirror's Edge

I've just watched some videos and it looked cool, but I'm not surprised at what you say, recent games often receive that kind of criticism : great graphics and technique made to impress the player, but bad story / not innovative (often) / no freedom, etc. Recently I read an article that explained how a lot of games are standardized to increase profitability. Because of the development costs that have become so high, you cannot afford to take too many risks, and it can be difficult for small studios. The article quoted someone of the company Electronic Entertainment Design and Research of California, who said that only 4% of games that enter production phase become profitable.
