Re: Screenshots

Wow, nice progress Delano big_smile

Although  I still think you should replace some of the things with Oni textures, like some of the crates and whatnot, even walls/floor, if you could smile

Re: Screenshots

That's some bloody jolly rotten good map textures mate!

-I noticed that the hackers of oni community made a lot of modifications before they locked me up, do you have any idea what they want with an old game? -Modifications? What kind of modifications?
-Hard to tell, without getting a look at things but it looks like they're repurposing it. -Why?
-Beats me, all the game has is brutal melee combat and furious gunplay. -I dont like the sound of that.....

But that's a port, I'm not supposed to add anything new.

Sure, as soon as I'll release an alpha/beta.

A test to see if I could export a level to UDK.

Re: Screenshots

It would be kind of cool if we could establish a group that would actively work on exporting the game into the Unreal or Crysis SDK. But I believe reworking the movement and combat mechanics would be too tough? tongue

If we ever try to do a fan remake of Oni, it would be best to wait for Overgrowth which has the mechanics for melee combat already built in. Guns could be coded later.

Re: Screenshots

Movement and combat mechanics wouldn't be too hard. The hardest part is animation and modeling.

Re: Screenshots

Well, I'd make a first guess is that he reverse engineered the way to make custom levels and did a straight import of one of Oni's levels by converting it's geometry to a model format Unreal can read and from there put it in UnrealEdit (Or whatever Unreal's map editor is called now.)

Re: Screenshots

This is a longshot, but would it be remotely possible to somehow make Flatline apply to a different engine? At that point, we could port it with multiplayer in mind, and that way, maybe set boundries that make it doable. I'd be willing to help with animation big_smile

Re: Screenshots

Yes, we could probably make Flatline on a different engine, after all, it is just a generic multiplayer support.
However, there is also the other problems, which I personally believe we could overcome, but then there is the copyrights stuff and I dunno...
