Hi everyone, im new to this. Ive been playin Oni since it has been released and i love this game. Recently i have just installed it on my windows 7 laptop and i have installed the lates Anniversary Edition Version. When i launch the AE Oni the main menu lags so much. I have only installed one mod for just a test to see if it works but i am gettin lag. Is there any way i can get rid of this lag because i really want to play this game again. Thank you.

A few questions for you:
1. I assume by "lag" you mean choppiness (lag means "delay", which is very different). Is the gameplay choppy like the menu? What kind of frame rate are you getting? (Use Fraps, or press Ctrl-Shift-Y in Oni after turning on Dev Mode.)
2. Which mod did you install? Note that you actually don't have to install any mods at all as of AE7 (previous AEs would not install without picking one). Clicking the Install button with no mods ticked will still install core mods, to be exact.
3. Can you copy the Oni.exe and binkw32.dll from the AE/ folder into the main Oni/ folder and run Oni from there? How does it perform?

1. Yes its pretty choppy in the menu and the gameplay. the frame rate i am getting is around 5 and sometimes falls to 4 and upto 6.
2. i installed the blood effect mod.
3. yup i have done that but as my vanilla oni doesnt work the exe. didnt help.

Hmm, well binkw32.dll is the Daodan DLL which patches the app so it can run, so you should be able to run any installation of Oni as long as you use the Oni.exe that the AE installed, and the binkw32.dll that the AE installed is put next to it.

Have you read this?: http://wiki.oni2.net/Troubleshooting#Low_frame_rate
I know it's partly the same as what s10k told you to do before, but I'm not aware of any other solution to the problem other than installing drivers from your card manufacturer (not from Windows). Note that the usual recommendation is to install the latest drivers, but if you have an old card, you might want to install older drivers.

yes i have read that but where it says the DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct3D Acceleration and the AGP Texture Acceleration, i have no option to enable or disable because it says not available. where can i get my drivers?

Maybe it would be a good idea to know by now what kind of computer you're trying to play this on?

that looks no good. Make sure which is your real graphics card (look at your pc manual or something) and install the correct driver.
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter means windows couldn't detect or find drivers for your card and that's probably the problem you are facing with the lag.

It looks like you're using a laptop, can you specify which one? Names such as Asus, Acer, HP, or Dell won't do it -- we need to know which model as well.

Yes you should have an intel card and probably one dedicated one (which the above softwares should told about).
Please try the intel auto update program see if it installs your missing drivers.

well if you that's the only card available it may not run the game well ... are u able to run other games ?
can you give more details about the card ? model .. number etc ...
also enter control panel -> system and security -> on the left choose view performance information -> look at the windows experience index for gaming graphics and graphics (run the rating if you've never done so before) .. if it's too low then your card is just not good enough to run games.
and also just make sure again that you have latest drivers for your intel card ... go to the intel website and search for the drivers for the card there.
