Polygon count will limit what i can add .. Even for hayate whose chest is simplistic polygon wise adding a katana made it cause buffer overflow sometimes.
Textures i can work with ... I'll try to google some samurai armor and see what i can come up with.
To stop the buffer overflow, make a simple version for the lower LOD 0 and 1. You really only need 2 LOD versions.
I think what EdT try to telling you is to create two separate models(one for lod 1,2 or 3 and the other for the rest 4,5).
Question.. where is the limit telling the engine when to change the lod..is this is connected to camera distance , or how many polygons you have on the screen?
And if we are still in the subject.. Can peoples responsible for improving oni engine. can increase how many characters could be added to One save point?The 32 limit character..is really annoying. I understand that Oni engine can't handle many additional polygons, but adding more chars- low poly, furnitures, cars, tanks..etc.. will surly not be a problem. Thous memory limits are for old 32 MB ram cards and PS2 limits.. not for modern computers witch have 2+ GB ram..I can understand graphics limitations, but this can be changed , without creating huge impact on game fluidness i think.

i understood what Edt meant and that's what i did before ... i made 5 daes for the 5 lods .. for hd konoko and the buffer overflow issue remained .. discussed it here : http://oni.bungie.org/community/forum/v … d=2409&p=2 post 35 (entire thread is about it) .. Iritscen was supposed to take a look at them and see what might be wrong .. I also asked to increase limit but others didn't agree read the thread i linked.
i think it's better to continue the lod discussion on the konoko hd problem discussion thread.
i think what is making the armor feel knighty and European is the pattern on it .. so i noticed that samurai armor have those lines pattern on the armor ..
so i removed the European pattern and made those line patterns, and added some gold details to match hayate's
i think she looks good now and matches hayate outfit and less knighty.

-remove tights armor
-make the skirt more like samurai(with armors palette like on the picture You posted))
-add katanas to her pelvis on both sides.
and then everything will be ok.

- i'll see how it will look like without thighs armor
- i experimented with skirts using different asian patterns and such but decided i like this most
- 2 katana's is a bit much esp on the pelvis cz they'll intersect thighs a lot and basically i can't fit more uv maps there, i'll either add one on her back or 2 small ones on the thighs.
ok final version of the outfit .. added katana, made thighs skin instead of armor to give her a lighter look.
Was thinking to add one more outfit resembling this one :
it's modern and still true to her character .. i like the hoodie but i may not be able to pull it off cz if i merge it with the head when she truns her head it will look separated from the chest, and if i merge it to the chest when she crouches the hoodie may go through the head, will see, if it works i'll make a similar outfit for hayate with a hoodie ... and the mid section may look different.
that is if i'll have enough time to do this i'll start work in few days and will have much less time to mod, and i want to finish hayate update to start working on mega pack level.

Looks good however I think the skirt doesn't fit with the rest of the armors.
Samer: yes, you can use any of Motoko's animations. I agree with script, skirt and armor doesn't fit. Perhaps if you do as Itemplar stated and made an armored looking skirt.

+ i feel an armored skirt is too heavy for her she's an agile character and with that much armor it becomes more suitable for a more brute character, i was actually thinking of adding more skin on the biceps and wrists ...

1 - But it looks like the legs should be swapped between the two. Dark with dark, light with light. Just my opinion.
i need a white touch in either one that's why the white skirt comes with brown legs, black skirt with white one ..

Hanako looks awesome!!! I really like the armored version. Apparently you were able to reduce the polygons on the models.
