I used the face and hair from the Lara model. What do you think? There is more work that needs to be done, if I go with this look.
Knees and hips are done. Shoulders still need to be aligned properly.

The new face makes her look (at least in my humble opinion) like an old lady, not a young adventurer/explorer...
I'd say the previous face is better.

old face for me better too ... It looked more like konoko which I kinda liked seeing konoko looking as Lara ... instead of Lara herslef in Oni.

OK, it's settled, it will be cosplay Lara. Besides, I liked Konoko's face, this one looked too mean, but I had to give the Lara face a try.

I hit a major snag. Actually its related to the Oni engine. If there is a high poly character like Lara (14,200+), then all the other AI's LOD is reduced so they look boxy. I got Lara down to 7,000+ polygons, but this is still too high. Konoko is less than 3,300 polygons. Sp I'm afraid the final model won't look as good as I'd hoped for. :-(

I would lose 75% of the details in the current model :-( The target seems to be less than 4,000 polygons for the whole model.

Isn't it possible for us to make some kinda engine patch, for higher polygons? I mean, like the way we handled bigger textures, and the new RGBA32 format.

The problem with the LOD was due to stupid user error :-) Somehow the graphics quality was set at medium, but once I raised it to high, no more issues with LOD.

:S isn't there a way to do the same hack as we did for motoko's trbs ?
& just how boxy do they look :\ ? can u printscreen ( don't they have 3 possible LODS ? isn't there a middle ground such that they still look ok and support the lara model ?)

Samer: I'm glad you like Lara. It was a lot of fun work, I learned some more 3D modeling techniques and UV mapping. Not sure, what I'll do next. Still slowly working on Motoko, trying to give her unique punch and kick heavy moves, but so far, they don't look right.
I may try to get Faith from Mirror's Edge into the game, I have the model already, but, I may go the cosplay route again, since trying to get the actual model is too much work, since the original is a very high polygon count model.
So when are we going to see some more mods from you??? :-)

I'd love Faith in Oni, would be totally awesome. I was trying to think of what other game characters we could use.
• Tifa Lockheart - (She already has some hand to hand moves shown off in FF VII, however, she would need to be made from scratch, as the original model is very low poly.)
• Solid Snake - (You might be able to rip the MGS2 model which would probably be to the right amount of polygons, but all the best hand to hand moves would be from MGS3 and onward.)
• Faith - Yeah, you already said it.
Makes me wish I could model for a damn.

If one started from FFVII's battle model for Tifa, it would be possible to add details to that so you didn't have to start from scratch. Just sayin'.

Lara doesn't have a spawn name. There are no "universal spawns" in Oni. I'd like to explain how to do what you want fully, but no time at the moment.
