Take me Down Mod

Here's another mod, the objective is try that enemy fall.

At the moment don't work in mac. (I think)
And have a bug with health of opponent.. (hope that geyser can help me with this..)

When your opponent is camping crouch to activate Anti-Camper. Enjoy. wink

This version is beta because of health bug.

Re: Take me Down Mod

Yeah, that gets the enemy back, still you wont get a point. It would be better if it could be completely stopped, but its just a minor bug

azewrath; Good big_smile
Script_10k; I noticed my CPU was a lot louder in the latest version, aka more in use. Just a note. Also one time, the enemy blasted me REALLY high, and I landed back on the pipe, and it gave her a point. hmm And lastly, if you knock her off just right, she can get stuck inside the pipe.. anti-camper fixes that sure, I just wanted my points. tongue

Re: Take me Down Mod

At one point the enemy had me, each time as soon as I respawned, I was shot and knocked down.

Without weapon_reset on the Mac, it sure leaves the place messy :-)

Hmm.. Wich is your cpu? My is a 6 year 1.7 GHZ and works without any lag.. (Windows 2000)

And wich pipe? In arena 2? Hmm I can't do much about that.. But I will see.

Yeh, don't know if mac have any additional commands that are alternative to chr_main_class and weapon_reset. But looks that the demo that I did you is working. smile If you find more nice flags maybe we can do a multi-arena with multi-frags limit in just one level how I did for pc.

Re: Take me Down Mod

It was in arena 1, sorry. And I don't get any lag, it just sounds like it's working way too hard, implicating lack of a sleep in a loop. *shrug*

Re: Take me Down Mod

It takes a lot more that Script's script to make for a notable difference in Oni's CPU load, I'd say.
If there was no sleep at all in a loop, the loop will crash. And Script's loops have rather comfortable sleeps.
Except for one, that is, but there he avoided the crash in another way. There's nothing there to hurt a CPU.

Re: Take me Down Mod

Last night I sat down and rescripted Script's script. Hope you like it.
As usual, it's completely rewritten (takes about 4 times less space).
I retained neither of Script's spots and used 3 other ones instead.

You can appreciate how hard it is if your freedom of movement is limited.
Actually, to keep things "fair", you shouldn't be allowed to move at all smile
But since the AI aims much better than you, the first 2 spots are OK.
(the spots are on SP 0, 1 and 2 with 10 frags and SP 3, 4 and 5 with 20)

The occasional lag (and CPU usage) are due to the chained explosions.
(also, possibly, to the environment visibility tree not being optimized)

The re-given SBG allows one to fire two rounds at a time sometimes smile
It could be fixed by giving an SBG back only when it's actually lost
(i.e., after a blownup or a flail, wait for the stance and give the SBG)

There's no way to fix the gun issue on Macs (possible Blam here...).
I did fix the double-kill bug (dying in midair used to kill you twice).

Re: Take me Down Mod

Wow, look at all those PC only commands!

The only alternative to chr_location is chr_teleport.
There is a flag or two off the beaten track in "power", but I was too lazy to look them up.

More generally, you'll get the best shootouts when you can't get close to each other.
There might be quite a few flag sets suitable for that, even in familiar locations.

The next step in portability is to generate a new CJBOFlag.BINA for TMD.
No scripter has done that so far. Looks like no one wants to be first tongue

Re: Take me Down Mod

At least it works in the Mac Beta.

But the enemy is floating in this version:

attachment.php?item=73&download=1

Hopefully, there can be a couple of flags that can be used for chr_teleport.

Re: Take me Down Mod

But the enemy is floating in this version:

Shinatama has always been hovering, Ed smile
They're using a child-sized body together with Konoko's TRAMs.
So the pelvis height is too high as compared to the length of the legs.

Hopefully, there can be a couple of flags that can be used for chr_teleport.

There's a convenient flag browser here: http://geyser.oni2.net/OniTeamArena/tools/  (not zipped, sorry)
And convenient lists of flag IDs here: http://geyser.oni2.net/OBD/BINA/OBJC/FLAG/
I'm working on a convenient ingame viewer that replaces the defunct show_flags.
However, it will only work if your version supports ai2_showhealth. Does it?
(enter ai2_showhealth= 1 at the console: what appears above the chars?)

Re: Take me Down Mod

Uh-huh. Bad for you, Ed. Looks like the very convenient flag viewer will be PC-only.
There's supposed to be a piece of text at the base of the health bar. It's not there.
There will still be a way for you to get the ID of a flag, but it's not too convenient.
That other way is to Ctrl+Shift+Del a flag and get an error message afterwards smile
More, later.

Re: Take me Down Mod

If I use the Mac Beta I get this:

attachment.php?item=75&download=1

So I could use your flag viewer.
