You had a chance to pick super/mutant powers

Ok so here's the deal, if you had a chance to choose from one of these super aka mutant powers, which ones would you choose and what would use them for? These are referring to X-Men powers, other powers you can use from the X-Men or other Super Hero powers you see from comic books. So come on guys be creative. I made this poll out of boredism XD

Re: You had a chance to pick super/mutant powers

I'd have to say super-speed, because I never have enough time in a day.

Immortality because then it wouldn't matter how much time I had in a day.

Yeh, me too, the only bad aspect about immortality is; when the earth gets destroyed. I know it first happens in about a few billion years, but I think, when you're immortal, a year would seem like a day or two. Well, that's just my thought.

Re: You had a chance to pick super/mutant powers

Yeah I've thought about that angle, I just think that I'd like to be around to experience anything and everything that will ever happen.  And immortality doesn't necessarily mean invulnerability.  Maybe it just means I won't die of natural aging causes or illness but I can still explode and die, lol.

What I was about to point out. Also, immortality does not mean invulnerability. So when the Earth is destroyed, its gonna hurt. A lot. For a long time. smile

I want flight:
1) shapeshifting into a normal looking bird. No more public transportation. (If it's magic nad not a mutation, I can even bring my clotes with me tongue )
2) Superman-like limited telekinethics or somesuch. I might even fight crime if I had that power. smile

Telepathy... I already have that. I woke up in 3 seconds before my alarm ringed. It is definitely telepathy...

You wrote that like you've already endured The End of The World and The Big Boom. smile

Being Immortal wouldn't be all that great everyone you know dies and then you meet new people then they die and etc etc.
And then the world ends and you got eternal suffering
And super-speed VERY useful

Re: You had a chance to pick super/mutant powers

Nerd Mode Engaged.  There's lot of different kinds of immortality in fiction.
* Some people are nigh invulnerable, and might survive the Earth being vaporized by the expanding Sun (Superman probably would, except that the Sun will be red-shifted by then and he would be depowered -- besides which, Superman does age, so he'd probably be dead already).  Galactus survived the collapse of his entire universe.
*Then there's Wolverine's near-immortality, which doesn't make him harder to hurt; his ability is to survive under virtually any condition even if there's almost nothing left of him.  If necessary, his body will heal faster than normal, generate missing body matter ex nihilo, or mutate in order to ensure his survival.  It's not perfect, though, because he does age, albeit slowly.  Some people would probably like this kind of "immortality".
*Some people have Wolverine's survivable trait but no healing factor (like a certain character in Naruto), so if they got blown apart they couldn't regenerate, they'd just be in pieces, but conscious, forever.  This is the kind you definitely don't want.
*Some, like Claire in Heroes, might shut down if sufficiently injured, until they can regenerate, which would mean that if you survived the end of the Earth you would float unconscious in space until falling into a Sun (or being found by aliens, if you believe in 'em).
*Finally, many immortal beings in stories are non-corporeal and don't have to worry about being destroyed physically in the first place -- the so-called "higher order" beings. End Nerd Mode.

I woke up in 3 seconds before my alarm ringed

Humans do have one neat ability already, which is an internal clock that can be very accurate.  It operates on a subconscious level, which is why we can't track time in our heads by willpower.  But your brain seeks to avoid the annoyance of the alarm by tapping into that subconscious clock just in time.

Re: You had a chance to pick super/mutant powers

Immortality's got a bad rap.  I think if you were alive long enough your perspective would change drastically, and you'd start to look at the story of the world more than the story of your own life, which is not only a good way to live but would probably end up being a lot more interesting.  And even flying through space for eternity--assuming that's the kind of immortality you had--wouldn't be much different from the infinite abyss that most people I've talked to seem to expect after death.
