Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Just to ask, do the conversations run fast for anyone else besides me? I play the normal Oni and it runs fine, but the edition Oni seems to be cutting spaces between the gaps in the conversations, causing the characters to keep trying to cut each other off.

Steveinlewis:  Are you running Oni from the executable in the Oni\Edition folder?

ItemfinderDeluxe:  Yes.  This happens to me too.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Leus, do you have a global folder in Edition\GameDataFolder\IGMD ?

If not, it is the daodan causing those gaps, probably.

@Stevin: The AE installation already sets up all of the neccessary files.

Just to be sure, put http://geyser.oni2.net/EXE/pc.east/Oni.exe and http://rossy.oni2.net/files/daodan/binkw32.dll in your Edition folder.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Leus and Itemfinder.. I have that problem too especially in the dream lab and TCTF sc prison hmm

I do have a global folder ... but it's not a big deal ... I often want to skip the cutscenes quickly anyway xD

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Yeah, some of the cutscenes are annoying to watch (namely anything with Barabas for me). It's just that the in-game scenes cop it the worst.

Konoko: Chung's Dea -
Griffin: Keep moving.
Konoko: Aren't we supposed to feel a little sad for Chung?
Griffin: ... No.

To any of the developers, do you know what actually causes the fast talking? If it's a glitch in Edition that you can't fix just yet (or feel like ignoring) I'd like to be able to plan cutscenes around that.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

If you have a global folder, it probably contains a cutscene skipping script which is buggy. smile You can delete it or...
I have attached a clean copy of the level scripts to use. Backup any BSL mods before replacing them with this.

If that doesn't fix it, try using this daodan: http://svn.oni2.net/Daodan/build/daodan.dll

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

The fix above was for buggy cutscenes.

No, please do not install AE on your thumbdrive. I was wondering why it was taking two and a half hours for you to globalize...it only takes me five minutes, and it shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes on a slow computer. Installing on a flash drive is just asking for trouble. wink

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

It only takes me like...  I imagine it's not more than a minute.  Damn, it takes you five?  That would suck, I'm having to re-globalize so much to test this mod.

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

O_O Reglobalize, as in Options->Advanced Options->Reglobalize.

If you mean installing, it only takes 30-60 seconds (depending on how many mods I select).

Sorry, but what's the name of the cutscene skipping script?

cutscene.bsl ?

If you are on a Mac, it will be in every folder in IGMD (I think...). If you are on a PC, it will be in IGMD\global\

That is because you are doing it on a flash drive. Try doing it on your hard drive.

I have winxp 2400 Ghz 1Gb Ram ... so I don't know why so long sad and installing takes about 10 min and sometimes it doesn't create a complete GDF so i have to repeat several times xD

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

The original GDF contains over 600MB of data, and I believe it all gets cached in memory as globalization/installation takes place per the way OSes usually cache HD data to save time when you need it a second time.  So you see how 1GB doesn't get you very far.  My 2GB aren't enough for many tasks these days.
